Moss commits to Kansas

His dad also said that Moss wasn’t going to the BT because they didn’t want to disrespect Iowa.

That is a face-saving statement. Moss was denied admission at one BT school. Not a high enough gpa for grad program. (Basketball staff is really unhappy with admissions over it).

Isaiah's dad really needs to STFU, and let the kid live his own life.... He isn't a kid anymore. I feel sorry for IM.

Soooo... what happens to our expectations for the season if Evelyn commits and Moss decides to stay at Iowa?

Maybe he isn't graduating this summer? That would leave his options to coming back or going to a lower level. I have no information....just spitballing

This reeks of a young dude who doesn't really know what he wants.

I think that Moss got sold a bill of goods by Arkansas, and just didn't look at the numbers right in terms of their returning guards/small forwards. The de-commit from Arkansas makes good sense. If it is Kansas, that also makes good sense as they lost Quentin Grimes and missed on some of the other prospects they were chasing.

I feel sorry for the kid. He's clearly getting bad advice and has no clue what to do. I can't believe spot minutes off the bench @ KU is better than starting for a B1G team and playing at least 25 minutes. Best of luck to Mr. Moss.
This. WTF was his "advisor" thinking by telling him to transfer? He could have been the man at Iowa if he had the ability to play at other schools where he would have to spend a lot more time learning to mesh with different team/coaching staff, time that he could have used getting better at Iowa as a starter.

Too many cooks spoil the pot. Moss needs to make the decision he knows is best for him and forget all the other voices around him. Kansas would be a good place for him to land.

I have a Hawg “source” on Twitter who I talk to frequently. He told me that his sources told him that it’s 80% IM comes back to Iowa. Take that % with a yuge grain of salt but that was his statement as of 5 minutes ago.

So IM didn't connect with people at AK enough to stay...but there's somebody there that knows with high certainty what his next move is? ....i dunno

Brother, tbh, I don’t believe it for a second. It doesn’t make sense that IM would come back to Iowa unless he doesn’t graduate this summer.
to be fair there have been plenty of players who have entered the transfer portal to only return to their school.

kids do kid things. hopefully Fran/the team would welcome him back if that is what is going on

Moss surely can see the minutes would be there at Iowa; i never understood him transferring in the 1st place. a 3 year starter. had some great NCAA Tournament moments this season, esp in the comeback vs Tennessee.

Could be a bit uncomfortable if IM returns... on many levels. It would be somewhat reminiscent of Dr Tom's last year...an entire season of broadcasters and sportswriters reminding everybody of the awkward back story.

There were reasons why Moss sat. Multiple reasons. And they have already been documented in this thread.

Moss is a good player who had plateaued at Iowa. Maybe a change of scenery will help him, I don't know. But he wasn't getting better or even more consistent at Iowa.
Plateaued? Really? And you know this how?

Plus the family can expect free housing at KU like raef’s did.

Looks like he wanted to go to KU and switched from Ark after they lost on some big time recruits and now have an opening. BTW KU has a dorm just for bb players and an apartment for their families

2 yearsof similar play. 24 mpg/11 ppg as a sophomore, and 24 mpg/9 ppg as a junior. What did you see?

Look, I hoped he would improve but he never really did. He seems to have the physical tools, just never had the mental wherewithal to be consistent on the floor.

The term "flashes of brilliance" seems to fit. There were times when he was the best player on the floor and changed or set the momentum of a game. Other times...he was inexplicably invisible.

I maintain that the difference in closing that gap... falls to some degree... to coaching.

Agree 100%.

Easy to blame the coach but to anyone with their effing eyes open, it was mental and it was on Moss. But I guess we'll find out, won't we?

For f***'s sake, does the phrase "to some degree" have any meaning to you?!

Secondly...what exactly does a coach get paid for, if not developing his players..mentally, physically, personally, etc. #seeKirkFerentz. Of course the kid has to "show up" (be it going to class, practice, studying or taking the direction) but there's absolutely an expectation that the coaches (plural) take an interest in developing them. God forbid I suggest that, Margaret.

So you don't think that the Iowa staff did everything they could do to develop Moss?

And stop being an ass. You and others cast blame on the staff like they were primarily responsible for Moss not developing. He had every chance. You are clueless.

We have no idea what CJ can do in the big ten but Fran is not going to be afraid to play a gunner at PG- small chance moss comes back but CJ is bigger and more athletic than Jordan with a pretty similar offensive skill set. It would be interesting to CJ, Joe, and Moss start together. That’s an elite shooting lineup.

Dude, who wouldn't run!?

Why is the phrase "to some degree" so difficult to understand?
