Most difficult sports to play

That list had to be made by someone who has never done much of anything other than drink beer and eat pizza.

Go try to do a triple jump. Not many will go more than a few feet on the second jump, and many will simply fall down while attempting the third jump.

I've only played hockey so I'm going to go with hockey. Well, harder than bowling, I know for sure.

I'm glad so many are thinking the same as I am. I haven't played everything obviously. But, there is zero evidence I have ever come across to suggest it gets tough than baseball and hockey. I played baseball and not hockey, but someone I know says hockey at the effort level is 100% of what you have every 45 seconds aside from the skill, dexterity, and, oh by the way, doing it on skates. I can't imagine a sport more difficult. I can't imagine a more difficult skill than hitting a baseball for a hit. If you're thinking golf, add a person trying to prevent you from making contact in addition to the similarities.

Maybe getting dragged around by a boat is their idea of water skiing at 46. Attacking the water at 30 mph and cutting non stop is not child’s play. When you fall, it is like hitting concrete.
I know kayakers (49) who do stunts that few in this country would attempt.

Combat sports like wrestling and boxing are correctly at the top. You can suck at other sports and still be able to enjoy yourself. There is no enjoying getting your a$$ kicked.

Enjoyment factor has nothing to do with this ranking don't you think?. I imagine triathlons aren't a lot of fun at times, but may very well be one of the most difficult. Walking out to the center of the ring takes next to nothing. It can be grueling training for sure and skill is needed, but these aren't near the top at all for me.

This is clearly a list of “toughest to play.” Wrestling should be moved up a lot. If it was “difficult to play,” 9 ball would’ve made an appearance. Good lord what a tough game.

Where is baseball and cricket? Old school cricket minus helmet was fun. And catch with your bare hands.

Individual sports like wrestling, boxing,
golf, tennis, test the skills of a person.
There is no place to hide when you lose.

Team sports help players bond & enable
them to play for the sake of the team.
Football, basketball, baseball, softball,
volleyball need a solid contribution from
every team member. These are not a
one man show.

Speaking of tri’s: Ironman.

Ted Williams and Sam Snead we’re both asked what’s harder hitting a baseball or golf ball. Williams said, “A baseball of course. Sam, you ever have to hit a golf ball going 85 miles and hour?” Snead responded, “No. But I bet you never had to chase down your foul balls and hit them again.”

Very few things are as nerve-racking as a road game of pocket pool. Playing at home is comfortable and easy, but anything can happen on the road.

This list seems to reflect the amount of physical effort required to do the sport. Also possibly the mental toughness.

Golf, while simple to become a pedestrian player, is one of the most difficult games to master. Drawing, fading and knocking down the ball and reading the course is an art.

My list would start with free soloing. I know some may not call climbing a true sport, but it requires incredible athletic prowess and endurance in pursuit of a specific goal.

Plus it has the added excitement that if you lose, you die. Nothing else on the list comes close to the danger level.

Damn you;) I got sick just looking at that. I hate heights. My muscles ached for days just watching Free Solo. I knew the guy survived it, but my muscles were tensed and I was still sweating.

Lol at Baseball being #9, good luck everyone hitting a ball coming at you at 99 MPH then once they get you some speed, come back with a curveball or a 70 MPH changeup. Toughest position in all of sports is Catcher. Fact.

If you look at what some of these cheerleaders are doing these days, I'd say that is too low as well. Certainly should be able canoeing.
