Most racist presidents of all time?

Andrew Jackson is the clear #1 most racist President we have had, and by a wide margin. Woodrow Wilson would be #2 and then there would be a drop off after that. FDR definitely gets consideration for the Japanese internment issue. Zachery Taylor would also be up for consideration.

The Jakeleg personality is really fixated on race today.
You certainly gave him one hell of a rebuttal too. He's clearly running for the southern hills.

I honestly have to agree with this list as a pointing out of racists in general. No need to make it a contest.

It's a contest when Arb uses one of his numerous handles to fixate on one thing. This board can be repetitive enough without us suffering through his disorder with him.

That's an odd assumption brutha. Why would you think I think that? Read a history book. If that's too much to ask maybe just watch Spartacus. Nice eye candy in that one. Thank me later.

Naw...Kirk Douglas was in his 40's and clearly had sagging tits...now John Gavin was a different story and old Sir Laurence Olivier still looked buff in a toga.

You are fixated on trying to link me with the guy who had the little Pogo avatar aren't you? No you aren't close and you don't win a cigar but I bet it drives you crazy that a southern guy can be so clever and witty.

I read this recently Natch, and I thought you might enjoy it:

"We are discussing politics and you throw out the race card. I'm not aligned with either left or right, if you can grasp that, but whatever. Let's keep going with this since you can't seem to get around it. So you want to equate the days of slavery to the days of today. I don't see it as being productive, but let us do that. I'm going to aim this at your chosen side. Which of course is Liberal America.

Slavery ended nearly two hundred years ago. It's been over with for a long time and white America helped to make it happen. You live in a generation that isn't even close to that history of slavery. You've never seen it, and the black Americans in this country have never seen it. The white people of these times have not raised second generation slave owners. As a matter of fact, there are no current living former slave owners in America. There are not even children of former slave owners still alive today. The parents of today, and yesterday have raised children in the current mindset of America. That mindset does not advocate nor does it control any slaves. That mindset is not formulated from the 1800's. It's the mindset that recognized difference in America. It's a mindset, that even if stubborn, a mindset that has accepted that we are all born free.

Guess what Liberal America? Black people are equal to us. They are not inferior to anyone, nor are they superior. They go to school, and into college. Then they get jobs, and good ones also and they even promote into high-level positions. Some even become President.....

Some students of today have been twisted to the point that they ignore all of this. Some black people have been twisted by liberals to believe that they are still slaves. That's not true you say? Then why Is this white guilt movement associated with Liberal America? The so called, "Sorry we are so much better than you, but we feel bad about it agenda."

An absolutely ridiculous and completely backhanded view of racial understanding. You think that telling black people they that are held back, undervalued, and under the boot of whites because of circumstance is thoughtful? Tell Billionaire Michael Jordan that. Tell Obama that, before you get frisked and beat down by Secret Service agents. Those agents also are there to protect the Most Powerful Man in the World. Yes, a black man currently holds that title. Unless of course you think for some reason that this particular President doesn't deserve that title..... White guilt...white privilege,..how ridiculous is that entire cause? Why don't you just tell black people that they are slaves whether they like it or not?

It completely undermines the fact that black people are just a capable as white people. It completely undermines everything that white people and black people once fought for, together. Here we are getting along, working together, living together, enjoying life together. Yet here comes the liberals to tell you that those facts and everyday occurrences aren't happening. They feel the need to disrupt that unity. They can't let you forget that we must be at odds.

Make no mistake, it is the Liberals who are the worst at doing this. Still not convinced of that? Then ask yourself this, if it is not them, then who is it that does that? Who is always the side quickest to cry "That's racist!! Do you want to go even deeper on this subject? Ask yourself then why only the negative racial topics make the news. Also ask yourself which newsgroups do it the most.

Just something to think about. Maybe we don't hate each other as much as certain groups like to point out. Maybe we should look to our left and to our right and realize that neither direction is made up of one single color. Maybe, just maybe, racial equality and racial harmony is stronger than some would want you to be aware of."

Abortion and the welfare state are the modern day slavery for African Americans. 1,900 black children are aborted in the US every day. The Democratic Party are the current slave owners. Congrats now matter how bad you treat African Americans they keep coming back on the 1st & 15th to serve their masters.

I guess they don't want more black people around then?

I don't usually enjoy angry, ill informed rants unless I'm making them. But thanks for thinking of me.

I detect a little internal inconsistency here.

A year or two ago Smithsonian Magazine had a good article on Thomas Jefferson and slavery. In his younger days Mr. Jefferson thought the practice wrong despite owning many slaves himself. In his later years Smithsonian revealed Jefferson letters where he wrote slaves were a good investment. It caused a bit of a stir among Jefferson worshipers.

If you gather all American presidents from the 18th century, 19th century, and first half of the 20th century you will have a fine collection of racists by 2016 standards. Some of them were racist by the standards of our time but ahead of their time in race relations. The people who voted them into office were racists too.

Do you really think that all slaves were black?
I just corrected you on that point, so obviously not. Where do you even come up with such a fool notion? Do you just make up positions and assign them to people? There's a word for that.

Looking at something from an economic and a philosophical way is nothing new. Well, maybe it is to a lot of people on this board, but to most analytical people...it isn't.

You did no such thing. You avoided the question. It's a simple yes or no, but you seem to be scared to answer for some reason.
I did exactly that, now for the 3rd time. All slaves were not black. Is English your 2nd language? Why are you even making up points and ascribing them to me? Are you habitually dishonest?

I'm not the one running, kid.

If all slaves weren't black, then why did "Americans" use most black slaves? They could have gotten them from a lot of places. Why did they buy black slaves? Don't worry, I'll answer the question so that you don't have to blow a blood vessel.

Could it be because black slaves were the cheapest and most available? And if that's the case, would that mean that slave owners were actually racist? Remember that these people didn't sail to Africa and capture a certain kind of person. They bought what was on the market. That doesn't make someone racist.

I'm afraid you have me confused with some other poster. I'm not offering free history and philosophy classes tonight. I suggest you google the justifications for slavery by those 12 Presidents and see if you can figure out if they are racists.

He's the OP. The board wasn't making it a contest. If racial division has heightened under Obama, it hasn't been because of anything he's actually done as CIC. From my anecdotal experience, the division has been about white people feeling like they can't say anything which might be racially divisive. That started way before anyone knew who Obama was. Take back your rights and say what you want to say. And if you're getting feedback that you don't want to hear, maybe listen? You're probably not right about a lot of things. C'est la vie. Suffer the embarrassment of being wrong and learn. And when you think you're right, nobody here is stopping you from explaining yourself. Not yet.

Ask nicer. Beg me to teach you. I don't think you want it bad enough after you failed to complete your last assignment.

You have nothing. You never have anything. That's why I originally put you on ignore. I could tell you that the sky is blue, and then you would say, "prove that the sky is blue." I don't have time for ignorant, lazy hypocrites who try to pass themselves off as intellectuals because that's the only way they think they can ever gain respect.

Answer the question, or don't. You never have the balls because you always know that I"m one step ahead of you.

You must still have me confused with some other poster who claimed to be some expert on slavery and wanted to engage in debate about the American experience with the practice. That wasn't me. If I have nothing, why are you asking me to teach you such an subject? And why do you lie about my positions to get my attention? And why after gaining my attention would you be expecting more than the ridicule you earned? You are a puzzle.

Blah, blah, blah. You made a comment, I asked you a question about your comment, and you refused to answer it, once again, because you don't know anything and you know that the hammer is coming. Do you know why I don't ignore "yes or no" questions? It's because I keep the same beliefs, no matter what side it comes from. You're a party line hypocrite, and therefore you can't answer simple "yes or no" questions, because you first have to figure out what you've said in the past, and then you have to figure out how your party would want you to answer.

You are a joke. Someone who would rather obfuscate than argue what they believe in. You are essentially a troll, whether or not you believe it yourself. You're basically Fred. I love it, because it's so easy to just pound your ignorant ass into the ground. It's really the only reason I took you off ignore...I missed destroying your ridiculous posts. ;)
