MSU and Wiscy

Anyone else think it probably isn't a coincidence that these two schools are having down years after the NCAA decides to start calling using your hands to play defense more? No two teams in the Big Ten got away with grabbing, hand checking, and fouling with your lower body more than MSU and Wiscy.

Agree with MSU on this point. But Wisconsin lost a boatload of talent to graduation.

Agree bouma about the talent lost, but every other year they have been able to bounce back with a team in the top three of the Big Ten.

MSU is 16-4 and has several really nice OOC wins, and will likely stay ranked all year long. Not sure how that is considered a "down" year.

Wisconsin was always going to suck, and if the OP can't understand that, then there's not much that anyone can do to help.

MSU is 3-4 in conference play, sorry but that is a down year for MSU. To be fair, their body of work is good and down year in that regard probably isn't fair. Outside of the last couple of years when has Wisconsin had the talent?

It's not about talent w/ UW. It's about experience this year. They'll be right back in the top 4 next year. Iowa will be back in the middle to lower part next year. Enjoy this year while it lasts.

Regardless of the scenarios of talent or current records, of course this hurts both these teams. If you can't see that you haven't watched either team play over the last decade.

How has this affected UW? Have you watched every UW game this year? It's pretty much business as usual. Our problems don't lie on the defensive end.

Interesting, I hadn't considered that, but you're probably right. I don't believe MSU is actually done for yet, they'll be around come March. They always are.

They're still a 2 seed in Jerry Palm's bracket.

How closely do you follow college basketball? They've always been know as a great tournament team that loses their share of games each regular season.

MSU has averaged 5 Big Ten losses a season over the past ten years. They are at four now. I doubt they will finish the conference season with only one more loss, although it is not out of the question, but would take a heckuva run. Just don't think they have the talent they've had in past years.

It is not a coincidence. I'm glad they are calling the rules on everybody this year.

MSU and Wisconsin won a lot of games they should have not have won over the last decade+ due to A-Holes like Ted Valentine, Tom Izzo's #1 Fan.

Sparty breaking out alternative uniforms for their game with Maryland this weekend. Way to go Izzo. Pull out all the stops.
