MSU losing by 30 at Michigan

Wow. I don't think any is safe this year. MSU is a very winnable game for us.

Both games this week for Iowa are going to be battles. Makes things exciting doesn't it. Go Hawks

ESPN has our RPI down to 92. Imagine what it would be if we beat #23 Minnesota! Yeah, things are getting really interesting.

I just want to put a loss on those rodents so bad I'm ready to gut 'em and make a stew!!!! (Open this link at one's own risk, and yes, I know it's misspelled, that's not the worst of it.)

I hate playing MSU after they get beat. Was hoping they would beat Michigan before we head there Saturday..

Izzo will have their attention that's for sure. Apparently King Sparty couldn't get his team up to take on their in state rival...but he will against us.

Keep it close early cause you know they will come out fired up...with the short guy walking the sidelines & working the refs. This would be a good game to have 2 refs instead of 3...so they would be too busy to have listen to Tom the Butcher (Bitcher).

Don't worry the refs will help MSU as well.

Yes ^^^^ this concerns me for the MSU game on Saturday. MSU was god awful last night against their in state rival so this team is wounded and embarrassed and they get an extra day to heal those wounds physically and mentally too, just wish they were coming to IC instead.....ugghh.

But first things first, one tough game at a time....tonight against the rodents is the bigger task at hand and if we can just steal a road W would be a first huge step for this team, continue to grow their confidence and their RPI.

My hopes are that Minny drops the ball a bit defending Peter like some others teams have not (i.e. Nebby). Teams are just being incredibly physical with Pete and unfortunately the refs are allowing them to go way beyond just hand checking with him which is wrong. Clean is clean and a foul is a foul....call the damn contact, holding or tripping foul.

The other note....we are going to have to get after it defensively. Locked in loaded and ready to get after it with every lose ball and rebound. Just got to play real, real hard....push the level of intensity. This is it if they want a chance to reach that NCAA March Madness...they can do it, we've got plenty of quality depth players....just play hard and see what happens?

Was it last year or the year before? I can't remember and refuse to look it up, but recently Iowa ripped MSU by about 20 at home and this board was full of fear and trepidation about the return trip to East Lansing. "Sparty will beat us by 30. They'll be SO mad, and they'll have Denzel Valentine then, too. Poor Hawkeyes. Yada, yada, yada."

Well, you may recall the Hawkeyes followed up the destruction of Izzo & Co. in Iowa City with an even worse beating of Sparty in East Lansing: Valentine and all.

So let's play the games and see what happens. Any team that can lose to Michigan by 30 or so has to be questioning itself, especially when it was about their 10th loss of the year. Losing is becoming MSU's status quo, and that's always a good thing.

It's never easy in East Lansing, but the team that plays better will win. The revenge factor only goes so far. And it sure didn't help the home team last time the Hawkeyes stopped by. Getting off to a good start, as usual, will be pretty big.

The Big Ten Tournament shouldn't even bother with seeds this year.

Which is why people should stop screwing around with RPI predictions and SOS predictions for the Hawks. They've probably got a better chance of winning the conference tournament than some cobbled together wins helping them get into the NCAA's as an at large team.

Hopefully Sparty will be too worn down after Izzo made them run back to E. Lansing last night, (but I doubt it). A repeat of last's year's contest would be more than welcome. We came out attacking, and never let up. I also think we have to shut down one of their bigs, either Ward or Bridges. If both of these guys go off, we have zero chance.

Rough year for Spartan fans, first football and now this? If only Dantonio and Izzo weren't so likeable I wouldn't feel sorry for them :(

Maybe, but if they have it in them, Izzo will have them chewing nails when we get there this weekend. Bad time to be their next game, me thinks.

we have 7 games left in the regular season; its almost like our postseason has started; we just need to keep winning; gonna be tough AND fun

win and advance (our hopes); lose and well, you know.....
Hep March madness starts this week for the Hawks!

I hope the Hawks draw an officiating crew that only gives the usual B1G home court advantage and not special-order Izzo officiating, which we have seen in the past when Sparty is on the verge of failure.
