Tough loss. Ellingson will learn from it. Loud or not, the official has to get in position to see what is going on. He was under the basket and came running in late, which makes no sense. I get maybe he can't hear TO, but can he not see the guy's foot? What is he looking at if he can't see either? Overall the crew did a terrible job the entire night. Mason cleared out with his forearm the entire game and not 1 call.

Disappointing, but they came back from a large deficit in a hostile environment, which is a vast improvement from NW and IL.

this team is so close to a much, much better record; we are going to be doing a lot of "what if's" for a while

Amateur players are publicly criticized and have to face the press after games and answer for their "mistakes." Millionaire coaches also do. But the officials? Hell no. They walk away unscathed. Why do they not have to explain how the hell you don't see the TO call when you were TOLD a few minutes ago Iowa would call it? Why don't they have to explain why they can't see the Minny player standing out of bounds with his hand on the ball right next to them?

You can criticize the president, federal judges, amateur athletes, but not basketball refs. BS.

I was yelling for Ellingson to call the time out right away as soon as he had the ball in that corner. I think that was a major mistake on his part.

However, he's a college kid and in a tight situation at the end of a game that he most likely has not been in previously. No reason to beat him up over it.

Post game pressers for refs would be awesome. Just go back and watch the old SNL parody 'The Referee Pittman Show'.

'I just wanted to know, um.. are you totally blind, or just legally blind.. uh.. so that, you know, you can make out shapes and degrees of light, you know, that kind of thing? '

He did pretty much exactly what he should have; kill as much time as possible and when they come at you get away from them and call time out. The ONLY change could possibly be try and immediately dribble up the sideline to make it easier to get an inbounds in when you call the TO. This isn't on Brady.

And someday someone will bring up how Iowa has trouble winning close games. And this game, and the Nebraska game at their place, will be among the statistics. All I'm asking, is put an asterisk beside some of these, with a footnote:

(*) Refs were giving chance after chance to opposing team.

Gotta feel for the kid; you can tell its eating him up inside

JoBo interview: http://www.hawkcentral.com/videos/s...rdan-bohannon-timeout-wasn't-called/97681706/

Fran interview: http://www.hawkcentral.com/videos/s...y-can't-answer-officiating-question/97681434/

As you can see, Fran is pissed. Fran tells Chad Leistikow to "DON'T DO IT." As in, don't ask him about the officiating.
If only Fran and fans had Brady's maturity.

I'd venture to guess that he was too caught up in the call that he was predetermined to make and tuned out the rest???

i do think there is something to this; he saw the Gopher reaching in for the ball and was thinking jump ball, and then tuned everything else out

i feel bad for him; you can tell in the video that he is replaying that play over and over in his head

I just felt Brady should have dribbled out of the corner, he held the ball like he thought the game was over. You could plainly hear two or more players calling time out. Very bad call by the Refs

Srsly, arguing Brady vs Fran in whatever the argument is? Good grief, reminded why I don't hang out here as much anymore.

Insanity never ends I guess.
