My God! The Sandfort 3 point play off Kris's miss!

I said earlier he has as pure a shot as any Hawk player I've seen over the years. His trouble was confidence. Dix might be there too. He looks like a pure shooter too. We did best tonight with Perkins, Ulis, and Bowen on the bench. I still have a lot of faith in Bowen's future. What a game!

How far do we Go? Sunday's game starts challenge. Easy easy. Defense makes game a bit easier huh? Always. And Riley more minutes. Need him. And Patrick when ready. Best to Patrick. Defense starts at Top...

Once Fran took Ulis and Perkins out, they never saw the court again, correct?

I don't remember seeing them. Ulis was playing ok defense and had just hit a 3 when they got pulled. He must have been missing defensive assignments. Tony was just plain bad. We need both to get their games going.

Play of the game, maybe the year, so far.
Time expiring.
Great, great basketball play.
correct, totally, I was mildly texting with friends during the game but I went all caps right after that play. He had to catch and shoot while a defender giving him the big big hip action.

Just awesome play.

And I have to say what I saw is Perkins going the other way as he seems to be pressing, forcing. One of the few dribble drives he got to the rim he just slammed the ball hard off the board, no touch, maybe he lost control I am not sure but!!!!. He looked so good last half of last year but now?????

It seems Perkins labors so hard to get to the rim he just arrives a little off-kilter. Spotty shooter, at best. He can get hot, but lacks consistency.

I think Ulis was a bit dinged up. Went into the training room at half-time was ever so slightly walking a bit off.

As Gary Close said after the game, Perkins is now higher on the scouting report of opposing teams than last year and he is being asked to do more this year. He needs to adjust, figure things out and raise his game.

Patrick better pick it up big time when he gets back....

It was nice to see native Iowan's like Dix and Sandfor play so hard and be excited with the win. With NIL, high level ncaa B-ball is really a business/NBA audition. Dix and Sandfort played the game vs Michigan in hardheaded manner that brings back the old days of Iowa Bball when Lute Olson was coach and he had a bunch of mutts surrounding a superstar Ronnie Lester.

Sandfort effort on defense has always impressed me and his willingness to get into a scrum to fight for a rebound. CMAC has that same willingness...PMAC for whatever reasons has never been the type to fight for a rebound/or putback and that has lmited his effectiveness....PMaC really is just a guy that should come off the bench for offense on good teams.

Perkins's game is bully ball, getting to the rim. His hamstring injury is holding him back. He's settling for jump shots and floaters.
He's definitely streaky and the hammy is slowing him down.. but there will be stretches this year where he wins us games

perkins is who he is. He is an average (at best) ball handler, shooter, and reluctant defender at times. Way too much was made of him in the starting lineup last year. If you believe he was the reason then that's pretty much the same as believing missing pmac is why we are playing better since his break.
tell me you aren't nervous when a good defender guards him while dribbling or that you wouldn't rather someone else shoot the 3. I honestly have more confidence in dix and bowen against a good defender than I do ulis or perkins.
defense has been better the past 3 games, specifically rutgers. Hopefully they can keep that up.

Thanks, I enjoyed your closing sentence...

Miss Patrick's "drive" to hoop.Comes in flying! Will need rebounds from him. We do well with brothers huh?.Sorta shocked but pleasantly happy we are bringing Heat. Last night Michigan's players looked not happy after O.T. Go Hawks

It wasn't as effort-intensive as the thread subject, but the 3 make And1 play weren't too shabby either. Those 7 straight points for PS was the difference between getting the chance to win it in OT and losing in heartbreaking fashion.

The 2 and one after the Keegan air was already in OT.

It was, but not sure what you mean.

The one I was talking about was what tied the game and sent it into OT.

It forced OT, so it was still a very good and important sequence.

“Those 7 straight points for PS was the difference between getting the chance to win it in OT and losing in heartbreaking fashion.”: This sounded to me that all 7 points were thought to be key to GET to overtime.

Who was bigger or higher rated prospect? Him or younger brother? Hawks on Roll with brothers! Next sunday..

IA surfer: Your post looks all messed up to me, and do not see what the brothers comment has to do with mine.

Tony seems to be pressing, much like Payton earlier in the year. Needs to relax and let the game come to him. If Paytons stays hot and Tony gets it back together even this depleted team is going to be a hard out.
