God love'm all...everyone has to do something for a living. And, I have been lied to by more than one blonde in my life.
With that being said, the local weather folks did it again! For the past 5 days, these folks (both Ch 8 and 13) have been telling us that Friday (today) was going to be a real stinker, with rainshowers all day. Fine. So be it...it is May in Iowa...it rains.
Coincidently, my local golf facility was having a "member-guest" day today. After listening to the forecasters for the past several days, and their unanimity in predicting a generally crappy, rainy and non-golfing day for today, the golf committee did the best they could and yesterday postponed the event a few weeks. All well and good. They did the right thing, with all the facts they had to work with. (You know where this is going...)
Now "today" has come and gone. It was damn near as perfect a golf day as one can hope for in May in Iowa. About 70-75, partly cloudy skies, light winds (10-15 mph) and really, except for about 10 minutes late this AM when it "misted", not a drop of rain. Not one drop of the friggin' rain we were supposed to get "all day" as reported as late as yesterday!
Nice job with your dopplers, super-dopplers and computer-generated weather forecasts! Great job by each and every last one of you! I can hardly wait for the next severe weather/tornado forecast from all y'all! I'll be payin' attention.
