Just replayed the first half and the big fella really played well. Even took the ball out of a player's hands!

You kinda wonder where Ogundele would be if Fran had given a 2m stretch with the starters each game…?
Lot of people agree and wondered why JoshO hasn't played much this season---at least vs Cockburn and Purdue's two giants. We were 0-4 vs those two teams before this BTT game.
In the Purdue game both Rebraca and Kris had 2 fouls in 1st half and Fran usually sits guys with 2 fouls. I don't think Fran had any other option to play JoshO/Mulvey....we've seen CMAC guard some post this season vs smaller bigs, but that would have been ludicrous vs Purdue.
If I had to bet, I don't think we will see a lot of JoshO in NCAA unless both Rebraca/Kris get into foul trouble again.
At least Mulvey has gotten the urge to take a 3pt shot during crunch time out of his system and JoshO probably will concentrate on his post game vs taking another 17ft jumper.
Josh matches up well with Purdue like you said and Kofi too. Kofi is a stud and Iowa’s best shot at him may be Josh.
As for the CMac vs Purdue being ludicrous. Williams had CMac deep on the block at least once yesterday in single coverage. Williams wanted no part of it and kicked it out. But no I wouldn’t want/expect CMac to guard Williams or Edey for 40 minutes.

Alot of the tournament games were true TEAM wins. The bench players played key roles each of the wins and Fran did a great job of recognizing who was contributing and left them out there while they were hot!
I thought both Josh and Riley provided valuable minutes, minus the 3 point shots they put up. They both need to stay around the basket for now.
Very happy that Josh held his ground against Edde but, Williams drove around Josh like he was glued to the floor on another occasion, not something I want to see for extended minutes while Iowa is trying to erase the long time vacation from the sweet sixteen.
Mulvey now looks 1 or 2 inches taller then Josh which would make him 7 foot or 7-1. He's diffidently taller then Josh.
Hope Fran continue to use the 2 big men if needed in moderations.😉

Iowa would not have won yesterday's game without the contributes from Joe T and Payton Sandford. Both players played like veterans.
Edey put the body on him and Josh didn't move an inch. He did well and held his own in the post. Happy for him.
After he was in the middle and hopped around, he was huffing and puffing a bit.

Which brings me to why wasn’t he playing in the second game against PU? That is just not explainable . It’s was that type of coaching decision that had me pulling out what little hair I have left
I'm not going to argue this point as I have my own issues with Fran's in game personnel management but I've accepted that you need to take the good with the not so good. You should too. It's healthier and results in a fuller head of hair 😊.
