I just can't believe it. What a choke job. A few weeks ago we were predicted to be a #1 seed. The same ole Iowa way. When we are in the national spotlight, we choke.

I truly enjoy the way words like embarrassed and pathetic are thrown around this board after a loss.
100% agree. Last 4 minutes of any game is a complete train wreck when Fran is at the helm
Our fan base is embarrassing and pathetic.
Yea he can't seem to stop the bleeding. Ohio State didn't even play well.
We have looked like garbage the last several weeks. Most of it could have been resolved by coaching but we haven't had the eye of Tiger for the last 5 games.
Several shots should have been taken early but we wait for the shot clock violation or a turnover first.

I agree, no one should ever dare criticize a coach for the performance of his team, especially when the coach has track record of coaching a team that tanks consistently tanks at the end of season and does a one or two and done in the conference and NCAA tournament. The nerve of you people. 
I truly don't understand his coaching philosophy, but we'll get that mighty 1 tourney win and everyone will be satisfied.
I understand fans having frustration, But what I truly hate is to see players getting bashed, Called names, Etc. I find that totally embarrassing.
O$U didn't play that well overall, but hit 3 key three-pointers late in the game.
I know you're joking----but that team in 2005 was REALLY good before Pierre went Pierre again. Imagine that team with a coach that they liked playing for and respected as a decent human being---to my knowledge only Horner and Pierce likes Alford
People are upset cuz they know we have a veteran squad with 3 top 100 names and a special talent in Jok. When you have 4 seniors and a talented junior that's your time to make your mark. This was the year and it is slipping away. People are pissed for another opportunity missed. If we don't make it past the first weekend this year we may never do it under Fran.
Players are not hitting shots. Fran can no more have an effect on them making shots than he can taking a dump for the players. Some things you have to do on your own.

Exactly ... get off Fran and the players. Once again the Iowa Fan Base puts them on a pedestal and gloats about all that is good only to have something like this happen. NO ONE is more disappointed than the players and coaches ... so get off their a$$e$. If you are a true Iowa fan you will feel the pain that they do. Life isn't always about sports and wins and losses. If you are overly disappointed then you have no one to blame but yourself and the media for making all the predictions and painting a rosy picture. Some people need to grow up and realize that it's not the end of the world.
That 05-06 team would beat this team by 20
OSU hit two clutch threes, otherwise they played an average game.

Yep. I know a team in the state of Iowa that did the exact same thing last year. Iowa state 2014-2015=Iowa 2005-2006

Maryland once a pre-season favorite for BIG title and a final four pick..plays down on the road to their opposite all the time...I know Iowa has regressed in their play but let's get a grip..
There are great possibilities yet for the season...! Win out and hope Maryland plays to their opponent's level and the Hawks could still share in title.. Not likely I know..Just saying!

I wish. That would have meant Iowa fielded at least one high caliber team in the last 15 years. In reality, no. The two teams are both lacking.
Iowa state has underachieved. They were a "preseason top 10 team" that was going to dethrone Kansas in the big 12. LOL. They are going to be 10-8 in conference play. That said, all the media does is make excuses for them.
This team can still salvage the year with a nice run. Fran will have squandered some good will if it's a repeat of the 05/06 debacle. I still think there is some magic left in the season.

- i bought tickets to Tuesday nights game a month ago.. I live west of Ames (grew up in Quad).. I was hoping I was going to witness a possible BIG championship win.. Well My wife and I are still going to make the drive.. I'm coming to congratulate the seniors for tuning the program from an embarrassment to a team that will be making their third straight NCAA appearance.. I hope Carver is rocking!!! These kids deserve a hand for all they've done to this point...

If you can watch this end of season debacle and not be upset then YOU are the one with little to no attachment to Iowa athletics. Fans have every right to question Fran and his mind numbing strategy. Not to mention his awful recruits who are good for 4 points or less a night off the bench. Frans boys make wade lookingbill look like Scottie pippen.
Whats embarrassing is fans like you..Way to support your team. I'm as perplexed and pissed off as anyone how things have gone. What amazes me is just how freaking unbelievable how these teams play down the stretch of these games. Everything they throw up goes in or they make every FT. We can't buy a bucket. It's not that they aren't trying.

You have absolutely NO business telling me or anybody else how to be Hawk Fan. You don't get to define what constitutes a "true" Hawk fan, sorry buddy. I made no predictions, I didn't paint a rosy picture, and I don't need to grown up. This isn't the end of of world for me, but you seem to be quite annoyed that anybody would dare question the great Franny and his coaching ability. It comes with territory and the paycheck. I haven't seen anyone bashing an individual player here or questioning his heart or commitment. You, however, want to stick your head in the sand and say everything is OK when is clearly isn't. Did you watch the Penn State and Ohio State game?

This is our March situation under Fran.
Granted, Fran came in, when Lick buried the program.
When people say Tom Davis, I think full-court press, rebounding, clapping hands and losing to UNLV.
At programs like Iowa, you have "to make your mark."
After the 2010 football season, Kurt was on fumes, overall, the next 4 seasons, and, in 2015, with a favorable schedule, made his mark, despite losing to Sparty and getting drilled at the Rose Bowl.
Good thing for Fran is the recruiting looks pretty solid, going forward.
We'll see how our March situation develops, but, at this point, I'll take a semifinal B1G game and 1 NCAA win.
