****NCAA/NIT Selection Sunday Thread****

The committee gave no bones to the Big Ten.

I can't understand how USC and Wake are in?? They had high RPIs and that's it. Their resume vs Iowa is similar. K-state as well.

The committee can say all they want, they used RPI and then top 50 records. I think in the end the RPI was the deciding factor. Which sucks because they are going away from it next year.

I'm no expert but I've been saying on this board for weeks that the NCAA said it will be working on creating a new metric for future years. It was still clearly an important piece this year.

Totally agree on Wake. No impressive non conference wins and 7 of 10 wins including ACC tourney vs 9 teams below them as they finished 10th. Benefit from strong conference reputation.

What killed Iowa's bubble hopes besides obvious Indiana loss were bubble teams such as Xavier beating butler, kstate knocking off baylor then only losing by 1 to wvu, Rhode Island won A10 tourney and avoided 1 seed Dayton who was upset and Vandy beat Florida again.

As for USC didn't play super tough non conference but also didn't lose any of them and had a ucla W so see how they got in and as well as providence no arguement with their resume for play in game.

So who do we think we'll draw in the 1-8 game? I think we'll get USD. Regional game. Trey Dickerson is a starter.

Mark Hollis from MSU was the chair and whacked his own league. The Oklahoma chair from the Big 12 made his team had a cake bracket to the final four. Then they hit Nova and got housed in the final four.

I'm pretty sure when they're talking about your school, the AD of said school can't be in the room. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure this is the case

I'm guessing we see a mid major regular season runner up in the 1st round.

No way they'd pair a 1 vs 8 against a team that won their regular season conference title. Those teams usually tend to get a little love when it comes to seeding in the NIT.

I disagree. Last year all of the 7 and 8 seeds in the NIT were mid major champs. It's treated pretty much the same as the NCAA.

mid-major conference champions are almost always 7/8 seeds in the NIT.

There's something called throwing someone a bone regardless if they are in the room or not. That was the weakest constructed region in years that Oklahoma just happened to draw.

Oh man I was hoping the fighting Larry E's would come to town so we could post party pics non stop.
