NCAA Tourney Session I Thread

Man I hate to be so negative in session 1 but have our coaches and wrestlers NOT learned anything in the last 5 years of battling Penn State? Where is the urgency to score? Penn State guys are scoring falls and tech falls. We're scoring majors and decisions. It's not good enough. You can NOT win a team title against Penn State just winning decisions and majors through. What's it gonna take for them to figure it out? Cooper needed 2 takedowns to earn a major in the 3rd and don't tell me he couldn't have done that. Instead he took no shots. Sorenson, that's great that no one can score on you but ask you did is lay on that kid. Let him up and wear him down with takedowns and go for the fall when he's battered. This is so frustrating to watch. It's the same movie we've seen several times starting to play again. I wish I could ask brands. When are you guys gonna learn and when are we gonna see more tempo and more pace and more urgency. This isn't Iowa wrestling I grew up. We're good and we have plenty of talent to compete, but the style is not gonna win us team titles the way Penn State wrestled and frankly the way Ohio State is wrestling.
We're good enough to win this but we gotta get on it and we gotta score more than majors to keep up.

We have 2 majors, 1 tech and a decision... we are being aggressive.

"Style" isn't the issue. It's talent.

This is a thread about the session. If you want to complain about something start your own thread.

After injury time, Wilson chooses down and escapes so it's 3-0.

Wilson in deep on another shot, keeps working it, and gets the TD. 5-0.
 
Rhoads with a good shoot, but Wilson goes around and now has him in a near side cradle. Gets the TD and it's 11-7.
