Half of the spots in the Sweet 16 have been filled. Of those 8 teams, 3 are from the B1G (Mich, MSU and Purdue), 3 are from the SEC (Auburn, Kentucky and LSU), 1 is from the ACC (FSU) and 1 is from a mid-major conference (Gonzaga).

In three of today's games (Iowa/Tennessee, Washington/North Carolina and Oklahoma/Virginia), Power 5 conference teams face one another which will ensure that at least 10 of the Sweet Sixteen will be from Power 5 conferences. Entirely possible that Power 5 conference teams will hold 15 of the 16 slots. If Vegas is predicting correctly, 14 of the 16 slots will be held by Power 5 conference teams.

As for conference performances, here is a listing by conference of its teams that have lost to lower seeded teams.

SEC:
Mississippi State (5) lost to Liberty (12)

B1G:
Wisconsin (5) lost to Oregon (12)

Big 12:
Kansas State (4) lost to UC Irvine (13)
Kansas (4) lost to Auburn (5)
Iowa State (6) lost to Ohio State (11)

ACC:
Louisville (7) lost to Minnesota (10)
Ole Miss (8) lost to Oklahoma (9)
