That version of Drake wasn't beating Courtney.
But the good version could. Courtney is 24-1 on the year, but he's had A LOT of close matches.
tough first match. drake made some freshman mistakes. surprised they didn’t have him cut Gutierrez right away with 35 seconds left. Gutierrez looked gassed
That was a devastating loss for Ayala. Aren't there a lot of people who think he is a future champion? I think he is hurt so I will give him that. But as of right now, he is a million miles away. Not even close. Hope he gets better, both physically and results.

He had a pretty tight armbar and he was working for the turn. It was worth a go with that little amount of time left. He would have needed two takedowns had he cut him
He should be redshirting this year. Plain and simple.

Well he’s scoring 27 when he gives up 12. ADS is a different animal. As he gives up an immediate takedown, FML let’s go hawks.
FWIW, ESPNU coverage is garbage. I guess at least there’s coverage.

After giving up the early takedown, DeSanto now dominating with a 13-2 lead after the first period.
Devastating? He's hurt. wrestling with basically one shoulder as a true freshman. Get a grip.
Drake is going to be a good one. He just isn't ready physically or technique wise yet. Also makes a lot of true freshman mistakes. Best thing for him will be Spencer coming back next year. The following year he will be a complete stud!
