*************NCAA Wrestling Championship Finals************

Wrestling only 4 nights is a serious coaching challenge. We have a great team, great coaches! We have a great number of outstanding individuals with a lot of character, both in the lineup and backing us up in the room.

It is Iowa DNA to be aggressive, but it would be nice not to have it come out in negative criticism in some of these posts.

I get frustrated watching this when it seems like almost every match the announcers state that one guy is doing a good job by slowing the pace way down..... That's not wrestling or fun to watch

Well....maybe look at it this way:

1.) They won four individual national titles
2.) They didn't have a single guy wrestle under their seed.
3.) They had the chips fall their way at 197 like no other to gain points
4.) They beat us in every single head to head matchup in the tournament for a minimum 16 point swing.

Meanwhile....
5.) We had a #1 seed have to MFF and get next to nothing for points
6.) We had four #1 seeds with only one wrestling to his ranking (I'm writing this during 197...please Spencer!)
7.) We got penalized for poor sportsmanship

Yet we still won. Penn St. couldn't have done anything better. They maxed themselves out. And still fell short.

THE HERMENATOR

Now count how many points Warner got with his 3 point takedown and his subsequent matches. Your crazy if you think PSU’s young freshman won’t improve while Iowa’s has 6th and 7th year wrestlers who are maxed out. PSU will fill the holes in the middle of the lineup with transfers aka Iowa. The gap closed tonight enjoy your title. It’s your last for another decade at least. You won and lost all at the same time. No one is talking about Iowa.

excited for Spencer Lee. It's not as bad as all the posters are making it out to be. Its a bummer we lost 141 and 174. Going in I thought 141 was a toss up since it was pretty close at Big Tens. 174 I was expecting Kemerer to dominate since he handled him at Big Tens. Really when it comes down to it Kemerer's loss is the only real devastating upset to me, assuming Spencer takes care of business. I was mentally prepared to see Nick Lee to upset Eierman (not that I was picking it that way).

This might be most pathetic post of the day. Honestly, congrats.

2 matches that just fell the wrong way and people are writing out their suicide notes...

And I guess PSU has already won next year too, cause IOWA Wrestlers don't improve

Yet you are on an Iowa board. Makes your statement a little ironic doesn’t it

I don't understand why people dog on Gable I know hes had issues. If you like wrestling there's no way you can't like this guy
He's been less of a jerk this season. I think he felt like he needed to be a bit of a heel in the past and honestly I don't think that fits his personality.

What a punk and talk about jealousy. LOL. Nothing like showing the world that chump. Punk kid trying to come here with smack talk that doesn't exist. Bet you never wrestled in your life. Bitter, jealous, butt hurt kid.

Difference is, PSU is a young team that will only get better. At this point in time, guys like Eierman, Kemerer, Marianelli etc. are as good as they will ever be. Starocci will only get better. Howard will get better. Beard and Kerk will get better. We’ll find someone that will get us points at 149 and 165. Next year’s race is a tossup.

Yeah, and teams coach against that aggressiveness. Maybe it’s time to by track shoes for the team. We need another coach on the team that has a different mindset on wrestling . We have two twins that wrestle the same style and M* that’s two conservative. Jaydin lost, but we need an infusion line that. One Brands, Metcalf and Jaydin would be nice. And maybe someone that can duplicate Carl’s ankle pick.

He lost in the Qtrs so including that match he scored 2 total points on the front side so ya, not much difference.

I am not a Steveson fan and I didnt the showboating at the end of the match when there was time on the clock. Afterwards when he did the flip holy shit that was pretty cool and I thought his interview was actually pretty good

These entire finals is one guy wanting to wrestle and the other guy not. Even Parris is running.
I'm sure we'll keep that theme going in Lee's match.

Oh wait, only Penn State and Oklahoma State wrestlers can get away with that not wrestling and still win.

This kid is from ASU.
