NCAAW-- other games

It was harder when they weren’t in the BIG10 🤓 I still personally think ND is the clear best team
LSU @ Texas should be a good one. Might say something about how these teams get seeded. I think Texas has been playing way better now than how they started. Might be a statement win for them.

UCLA looking to bounce back vs. MSU. Wouldn't want to be MSU today.

I think you (maybe) want Illinois to beat Nebraska. Illinois last three games are USC, UCLA, and Michigan. Idk how the Big Ten will shake out but sure would be nice for Iowa to open the tournament with an "easier" game.

Minnesota plays Oregon later as well.
#10 NCSt vs. #12NC is tied at 10 in the 1st.

If I was watching this UConn/SC game and had no idea about beuckers there is no way in hell I would believe she is everything everyone says or the obvious #1 pick
Because draft experts are expecting a lot of really good players (Betts, Fudd, Latson) to return next year, and its basically her and Olivia Miles in a very weak draft.

Ahh yes good point about Illinois. Tried to find the Oregon/Minne game on YouTube and couldn’t

This caused me a mad scramble on TV channels and BTN+ to find the USC game to no avail. Then I saw USC's game wouldn't start until 6pm CT, and suddenly realized it's South Carolina that got waxed.

Yeah thats an inconvenient problem. It’s typically only a real issue when you’re dealing with women’s basketball… But I never know what direction to go with that myself.

Sometimes I go SC but that’s still really SouthernCal… gamecock’s works for football, but that’s kind of ridiculous for women’s basketball… I did go game GameHens earlier…

All the same I feel your pain

Here’s a name to remember for all you WBB junkies. Yuting Deng, 6ft. Age 19, came from China in January. 1st game was Jan/16th. Didn’t score, since then been in double digits everygame (9 vs OU) & has 27 today.

They said on the broadcast she’s the 26th ranked player in China 🤷‍♂️ I haven’t googled her yet

She's okay. I don't think she's a top player, but she averages about 18ppg, which is pretty good considering Juju also averages 25, so there's not a whole lot of points to go around.

Well she’s considered a high draft pick but I haven’t been overly impressed

I think it is probably a lot to get all their players on the court together, and she ends up with a situation where her role and talent doesn't always shine as well as it did at Stanford. That said, Iriafen was 24/13/4 last week vs. OSU, and I've seen her carry other games. She's good.

Vandy Auburn crazy ending

Auburn fouls Vandy shooter going for three she makes all three free throws to tie the game with less than a second left

Yeah, Blakes w/44 going into the OT. She is the freshman that had 53 earlier this season.

For sure, and in retrospect the game against UCLA was very physical. They were letting the bigs push and shove under the basket. She showed up at the end, though.

Someone pulled the stats from last year when Kiki was at Stanford and Cam Brink covered up a lot of her flaws. I think she's a going to be an elite athlete in the W but it might take a few years for her to translate and develop.

Illinois survives Nebby

Yeah and that loss in hindsight was just growing pains and an acceptable loss. With that said, Illinois has played a crap schedule. 59th SOS. For comparison, Iowas is 10th. They do end w/USC, UCLA & Michigan as my partner @citizenHawk pointed out.

They are a decent team, but they won’t cause waves in the tournament, IMO!

Looks like USC just got off the bus in Seattle. Whole team looks asleep or half interested. Washington leads 19-14 in the 2nd.

Yeah and if this was a new thing with USC or early in the season, I’d give them grace, knowing they were just working through some stuff, but this is a pretty regular thing with them. They have plenty of talent, but they’re not a great basketball team. They might make the round of 16 but that will be it.

Ole JuJu doesn’t like being guarded close. Washington has done a good job of not giving her space. I’ve said it all season. If you take away her space, she struggles a little.

I missed that 2nd half, but looks like Iowa's upset won't lose weight with a bad loss for USC.
Can't recall a team looking that uninterested in the first half. Makes me wonder if there is something going on with the team.

I see Betts is out for UCLA with a foot injury. Wonder what that might be.

Betts is out and in an air cast.. will she miss extended time? 🤔

Nope! Latest update it's a toe injury.
"The 6-foot-7 starting center is day-to-day."

EDIT 1:
Might have revise my original reply because of the "right foot injury" + reports of an air cast or boot.
Guess it needs more followup to see if something more serious shakes out.
Photo of the boot on her.

EDIT 2:
"The Bruins were without star center Lauren Betts, who sat out her third game of the season with a reported toe injury. It is unclear how long she will be out..."
