CRUZ 26 vs 8 Was aggressor in 1st, in a few times on single but could not finish, did get the stall call against Neb. Started 2nd on top, gave up quick escape( we need to work more on top!!!) Down start 3, working hard but Neb stalling some more, finally got the 2nd call and needed to escape to tie it up but could not. 75

AYALA 3 vs 15 Did not like that he did not score in first. Gave up quick escape to start 2nd but then added a quick TD. Was in deep late in 2nd but did not convert. Quick escape to start 3rd ended the scoring. WIN never seemed in doubt, but Did not like that match was that close!!!! Neb obviously playing for a last TD to steal match. 88

SCHRIEVER UR vs 6 Gave up 1st TD but got out quick, though he wrestled a pretty good 1st. Top start 2 and another quick escape given up by IOWA!!!! Got taken down and ridden out with Legs. Chose feet start 3rd but gave up another TD, neb started playing TD game but he kept it to a major so give credit for that! 72

PARCO 4 vs 2 a lot of hand fighting in first with no real shots by either wrestler, Def choice to neb who takes down. Crazy roll into a scramble good he only gave up escape!!!! start 3 neutral , BODY LOCK for TD( needed that against F*** state!!! believe he gets it next time!!!) 99-100

ESTRADA UR vs 4 great hand fighting and position in 1st but not much else. Top start 2 QUICK ESCAPE. went toe to toe again on feet but no TD. Good work to get escape in 3rd. Got in deep finally on a shot but could not finish, felt he got a little lazy when "backing out" and gave up winning TD. Kid is TUFF and again if he can get to 149 next year, we may have our man!!! 8-3

CALIENDO 2 vs 8 I got kinda distracted during match and was not able to see everything. Someone step in PLEASE!!!

KENNEDY 6 vs 14 Scramble wound up on his back, fought hard to get out. He stepped right into another TD and I was going to break something, but he kept working and BOOM he gets a TD and backs. He rode tuff, there was a few crazy scrambles. Neb took a lunger on a challenge or something? 3rd down quick escape and match was tied and I though we had the great CARVER MAGIC when Disaster struck!!!

ARNOLD 5 vs 8 was a good scramble to avoid giving up points end 1 but was not getting to his Offense. Top start 2 and gave up quick escape. No more scoring takes down gets out quick, still not getting to his offense. OT, same, not generating any good offense and Disaster X TWOOOO

BUCHANAN 1 vs 20 Thank the LORD for this guy!!! 1st no score but was on attack and got stall warning on neb. Quick escape for the HAWK start 2. Shows amazing power when stuck under on shots lifting these guys!!!! Spawl-d- counter shot on edge, then tough ride out. 3rd he just TOOK OVER and was pushing for the team!!! Grade??? I-O-W-A STYLE is the grade!!!!

KRUETER 11 vs 21 was a scramble to a TD that was originally given to neb but correctly waved off. Crazy tilt for 2 more points worried me some! Rode him out in 2nd. Down in 3rd, leg rider, Ben wrestled smart and worked his way to a reversal at end 3rd. BIG win to seal the deal!!! 90

Looked to be a great crowd as always.

Showed fans getting Carver cones which got me a little jealous cause I didn't have any but then they showed some people with TWOOOO and I was kinda mad!!!!

BRANDS 1/2 time interview was classic!!! "uh STOP bothering me during the F-in match" is how I took it!!!

Always nice to see GABLE and he still gets fired up 100!!!
 
Kennedy went into coast and got nailed.
Gabe has now gone 3 matches without an offensive TD. VERY TROUBLING. A week ago, he was calling out Star of PSU. He is not in the same league. Don't forget that he is up a weight and is a RSF. Future still looks bright. Got to get some offense.

Matches like 133 and 197 are why I miss the old way stalling used to be called. To me this kills the sport more than anything else. I’m almost to the point where just go freestyle.

Cruz just needed a takedown to beat #8 same with Estrada to beat #4. I really like these two just keep improving.

Those were my two points as well. Kennedy did a hell of a job with the comeback in the first, but then in typical Kennedy fashion went into NCAA mode (no offense and hope it works out the end of the match). Sadly Gabe is now doing the same thing. Against Maryland it worked out, but tonight it failed him. Need to get TDs in the 1st and 2nd period and not wait until the end to roll the dice. That's how one goes 2-2 at NCAAs and then wonders what happened. Hope Gabe gets on the offense and in a hurry. He's going to have a hell of a career at 74. Can't wait to see Gabe/Ferrari at 74/84 for the next three years.

I'd give Cruz at least a 90. He gave it his all against a much higher ranked opponent.

I thought Caliendo and Drake wrestled too conservatively. I know Van Dee can be dangerous and that Nebraska's 65 pounder is no slouch, but the nation's top 2 guys at 33 and 65, respectively can't give that much respect to their opponents; they need to go out and score points.

Buchanon or Parco for OW. Buchanon saved our asses in a big f'ing way and Parco righted his ship against a higher ranked opponent. Both impressive!

I concur. Didn't like that aspect, but while his tank was full he definitely took the fight to Caleb Smith. I think this was just a case of top 5/6 guy against to 25 guy. Hope you're doing well my brother! One (complete) surgery down, another on Monday, and then we'll see from there. Can't wait to be able to get my ass off the sofa and participate in normal fitness activities.

I think if he goes neutral he could’ve got the takedown, smith was gassed. I do agree Joey needs to put more effort in on bottom that was ugly.
 
You know, I kept watching B10 and caught the Wisconsin/Purdue dual. It is insane how far Wisconsin has fallen. Bono must have some seriously good videos of somebody doing something pretty FUBAR as that's the only reason I can think of for him to still be in charge of that program. Ugh!

Yeah, I think you're way off the mark with that "neigher is even close to AA material" talk. I think Arnold is a solid AA barring a head-scratching loss on his part and an even bigger head-scratching loss by one of the top 5 guys who in turn faces Gabe on the backside before the blood round. As for PK, I think he's the same as year's past. He can finish on the podium if he takes the battle to his opponents or he can be a R12/R16 guy if he waits around and let's his opponent get the TD late in the 3rd or in OT. And I think the same goes for Nelson if TnT decide to go that route. Just my take. In the end we need 1st and 2nd period TDs and we need to quit with the waiting until the end to get on my offiense stuff, esptecially Gabe. He's much better than that IMO.
