Until the offensive line actually starts blocking, it doesn't matter who we have playing QB.

Iowa could have the Cowboys o line and with offensive predictability and no deep threat, the results would be the same.

True, but I'm not sure the deep threat has been given much of a chance yet. I haven't seen any called (I'm not saying their weren't, I missed a lot of the 1st quarter), but even if there were Stanley needs more than 2.5 seconds to get that play to set up.

part of the plan

What plan? Putting every one to sleep? Insuring 4 star position players don't want to come to Iowa?

Iowa might end up winning this game and might end up winning 7 or 8 games this year, but the question becomes: is the product on the field worth watching?

To me, it's not about the wins and losses anymore as it is the aesthetic of what were watching on the field. That's why I've consistently said Iowa needed to make a coaching change after 2012.

At this point, how can any Iowa fan get upset? Is anyone really surprised? I was cautiously optimistic coming into this season the offense could become respectable, and while I think the offense will get better as the season wears on I don't see anything that leads me to believe major strides will be made this season or at any point during the Ferentzes' tenure.

So, I hate to say this, but right now I'm struggling with indifference to Iowa football. Sucks, but knowing this is Iowa football for the foreseeable future I just can't care. Don't get me wrong, Iowa State is much improved on defense, but this is more about bad offense, something we can expect to see most Saturdays this season and those to come.

Step One? Fire Gary Barta.

It was sarcasm. Implying that if Stanley and Fant underperformed this year they come back Calm TF down.

I am feeling a little bit like Charlie Brown having Lucy yank the football away at the last second yet again. I believed things were going to improve with the offense this year. I actually thought BF was fairly agressive at times last year. This year it seems that GDGD is back at the helm. Stretch right to the short side of the field on 3rd and 4. Draw on 3rd and 9. 2 yard stop on 3rd and 4. Stanley looks like he has regressed. They are just terrified of taking a chance.
Ironically, they may still win nine games like I predicted before the season. The offense is going to be the difference between that and playing in Indianapolis.

But if they keep playing like this, it's not a positive to have them coming back....

It is easier to block when your QB can make accurate throws and your receivers can catch the ball.
Of course it is easier to catch the ball when its an accurate throw and it's easier to make an accurate throw when you have little pressure
