I've seen landscaping companies keep going in rain, so I doubt a little morning dew is going to stop them.
There's only so many hours in the day for your commercial mowers so they often have to start early, wet or not. On the plus side if they are mowing wet grass, chances are higher they will need to come back and apply a few fungicide treatments. Win-win in their eyes.
Commercial lawn mowers do it because their work schedule doesn't give them a choice,.. it's not good for your lawn...
I'm a 9am guy for anything that makes noise outside. Power tools, outdoor power equipment, etc.

That rarely works. Pouring in water is a much more effective action.
My two cents - which basically means nothing:
No mowing before 8 am
No mowing after 8 pm
No mowing before 8 am
No mowing after 8 pm
I don't understand the no mowing after 8pm crowd? In June it is light out until damn near 10pm... Is it different if I'm mowing in the dark late in the fall at 6pm?

100% agree. You can always put your headphones on if you need to go to bed that early and your neighbor is mowing. However, the difference is the a.m. people that surprise the folks that went to bed late that didn't expect the neighbor to mow at 7:00 a.m. No different than me telling the dog to shut up at 6:30 a.m. Neighbors don't need to hear you barking.
How is it different if you mow at 10pm or 6am, your waking up the neighbors either way.
That happened to me at my dorm in college. I swear they had a big steel bar that they were ordered to drop on the concrete pad every 20-30 seconds.

Not sure when this was or what the unit was being used, but I have an electric mower, and I could be mowing your front lawn and you wouldn't know it.
He probably works third shift. My neighbors mow anywhere from 7-10am after I get home from working third shift and trying to sleep. I always say I'm going to pay them back at 11pm sometime. Maybe they'll get the hint.
I don’t get why this bugs some of you. Do you have tiny yards and are super close to their property? Do you not have a/c and have your windows open? Are you extremely light sleepers?

Typical HROT poster is suburban. When we mow and have to turn around, we end up mowing half the neighbor’s yard.
it’s been cool enough in Iowa this week to sleep with windows up.
