NET Ranking: On March 17, Iowa is #43. How NET is Determined & What's a QUAD 1, 2, 3 & 4 Win/Loss

In but probably 10-11 seed. Honestly, that’s not the worst case scenario. Going 1-2 and ending up a 9 would suck. I really don’t want to see a Duke type team.
hate to say it, but a 1-3 finish before Selection Sunday is looking likely. I think Debbie will be motivated on Senior Day (imagine that!)
that puts us at 22-11 and lord knows where in the NET rankings. Close to 50?
On Feb 2nd we were #22 in NET & looking at a 4, 5 or at worst 6 seed.
Now? Yikes....

Lets face it; who cares about the AP Poll or the Coaches poll? Those polls don't matter when it comes to whether you get selected to the NCAA Tournament or not.
What matters is your NET Ranking and the Quad 1 & Quad 2 wins you have.

Today (March 6) Iowa is #41 in the NET Rankings. Right now are we looking at an 8, 9, or 10 (?!?) seed for the NCAA Tournament?
TWO things will be used by the NCAA Selection Committee when selecting the NCAA Tournament Teams & then seeding them:
(1) The NET ranking, an index that incorporates the most current evaluation measures; and
(2) A tighter definition of a quality win, classifying wins as Quad 1, Quad 2, Quad 3 and Quad 4.
The hope is that by using (1) and (2) we will have a more accurate selection and seeding procedure.
The quadrant system will still be used on team sheets, which sort results in the following manner:

* The date of the opponent's NET Ranking is listed.

Good question. I'm going to replay our first game with Wisky. Gotta Hack-a-Happ and defend Davison, Trice, and Pretzel.
It's on BTN. I get it through Youtube TV. Was originally broadcast on BTN as well.
Watching the replay now. Oh my goodness, McJunkins, Bill Ek, and the one and only Bo Boroski officiating.!
Didn't see anything going on with Davison. Trice had a great game. We were up by one with a minute+ left when Pretzel hit a wing 3, and then Happ made a layup and then he fouled out. Approx 20 sec left Trice hit a 3 and JBo answered with a 3 of his own. 69-66 Wisky, 16.6 left. They made FT's down the stretch and that was it.
Overall observations: I thought our defense was better, had a few sloppy turnovers, and we didn't shoot well. Didn't see any flops. We have to play better perimeter defense and shoot well tomorrow or it's going to be "lights out" in Madison.

A few things:
* It was a bad loss last night for the Clowns so dropping just 6 spots is interesting
* They lost by at least 10 points (90-75), which factors into NET, so again, dropping just 6 spots is interesting
* I am surprised ISwho's bad loss did not impact Iowa by 1 or 2 spots today.

Today (March 8) Iowa is #45 in the NET Rankings. Right now are we looking at an 8, 9, or 10 (?!?) seed for the NCAA Tournament?
TWO things will be used by the NCAA Selection Committee when selecting the NCAA Tournament Teams & then seeding them:
(1) The NET ranking, an index that incorporates the most current evaluation measures; and
(2) A tighter definition of a quality win, classifying wins as Quad 1, Quad 2, Quad 3 and Quad 4.
The hope is that by using (1) and (2) we will have a more accurate selection and seeding procedure.

Iowa will not be in Dayton with a loss. There are some really iffy bubble teams this year. I would guess a 10-11 with a loss. The Dayton teams should be 12 seeds. Now, if we had two more weeks left until selection Sunday and our trajectory remained the same.......

Today (March 15) Iowa is #41 in the NET Rankings. Right now are we looking at an 8, 9, or 10 (?!?) seed for the NCAA Tournament?
TWO things will be used by the NCAA Selection Committee when selecting the NCAA Tournament Teams & then seeding them:
(1) The NET ranking, an index that incorporates the most current evaluation measures; and
(2) A tighter definition of a quality win, classifying wins as Quad 1, Quad 2, Quad 3 and Quad 4.
The hope is that by using (1) and (2) we will have a more accurate selection and seeding procedure.
