New Jersey 2nd graders

Copy the drop box link from here past and enjoy the reading. I’m going to the beach

Using her own words she is not claiming the students are watching this particular video, she is saying this video exists on the same platform. Amaze no longer has it's own website, it uses YouTube for it's videos. Do you think teachers should all be banned from using instructional YouTube videos since this Porn video and other age inappropriate videos exist on the same platform?

For me the most outrageous part are teachers are instructed to promote a website Amaze and its YouTube channel to kids as young as 9 for them to get additional information on sex ed. One of the very first videos posted normalizes Porn as “something everyone watches” and “Hey it’s Free!” I encourage all parents to take a look and decide if this is something they deem appropriate for kids this age.

Why are 2nd grade teachers even having the discussion with our kids?

I am a little drunk; but, yes I was trying to be nice. You need to seriously get a life beyond a message board. Maybe open a window? Start looking at the good in life and not think the world is against you. Life’s short - don’t live it on a message board

It's evidence that Republicans often respond to the headlines without reading the links included in the articles they share. If you did, you would see the conservative hysteria in this case is not warranted.
You should know this guy's game by now. He has no interest at all in studying or analyzing this issue. He's pushing a propaganda line that's meant to trigger people, not to make them think.

Look at the brainless responses of the usuals.

I know, but what bothers me the most are posters like @Jan Itor and @BlackNGoldBleeder who believe the articles without digging deeper. They both claim to be independent, but are easily swayed into believing propaganda and they are not alone.

So, you’re totally against people calling the Florida law “Don’t say gay bill”, right? I mean, where does it say that? Yet I keep hearing it called that. Just want to know how precisely you are splitting hairs.

@gohawks50 is guilty of the exact same thing. He knows it and we know it

I tried calling the bill about sexual orientation and gender idenity. No one knew what I was talking about. I am aware the bill doesn't contain those words.

Which standards do you think are not age appropriate for 5th grade?

In 2019, New Jersey enacted a measure that required public schools to implement an LGBTQ curriculum for students in grades five through 12, becoming the second U.S. state to do so after California.
There is an entire lesson for 5th graders called “Thinking outside the Gender Box”. Totally inappropriate at any level of public school, but especially at 5th grade.

Hold on. Teaching 2nd graders about clits..
I agree this lesson plan is one I would not be comfortable teaching to 2nd graders. If I were required to teach this lesson I would make sure to inform parents of the upcoming lesson so they could attend or opt to have their child not participate. I really can't find the standard in the NJ document for 2nd graders that the lesson is addressing. One thing I did see was this note to teachers in the lesson plan:

Teacher’s Resource–Body Parts and Functions Note: It is up to each teacher to determine the amount and detail of information to share with their students in ways that are age appropriate. This sheet is for the teacher’s use only, and is not to be distributed to students.

Do you think it is appropriate to teacher about gender idenity at any level in public schools? How about sex education do you think it is appropriate in schools and if so what level?

Do I think teachers should teach 11 year olds that boys can be girls and girls can be boys? No, that is insane.

Also how about this nugget from the 5th grade lesson?
4.Identify at least one trusted adult in their lives they can go to with questions about gender.

“Hey Siri what is a groomer?”

A trusted adult is not a groomer. I hope you are a trusted adult for your child. Could they ask you questions about gender?

One of the subjects in our Health class was sex education (in the 70s). Eight graders too that class. And if the parents objected, and wanted to discuss that subject with their kids, the kid could opt out of that portion of the class. There were a couple of kids that went to the library on the days sex education was taught.

These were 14 year olds. Going through or gone through puberty. Don’t understand why some are pushing to teach this to kids. So young. Why in such a hurry.

I don’t have a problem having a class on this subject matter. It’s the age I take issue with.

Give me an example of a time I have done the same. I will gladly admit I didn't do my research. By the way, I am a she now and at birth.
I will not waste my day digging into the history on here, but I will be sure to point it out the next time I see it.

And my apologies for mislabeling your gender.

And I don't have a problem with parents having their children opt out from these types of issues.

You are being coy. Let’s have an honest conversation.
No, I am not being coy. LGBTQ children often need an adult to talk with about the confusing feelings they are having. The trusted adult can be a parent, close relative, a teacher, a coach, etc. I would hope every child's most trusted adult is their parent, but sometimes that's not the case.

And the age?
Because sex education is a sensitive issue, I think parents should be able to opt their children out at any age. Personally I think it should begin in 5th or 6th grade because puberty is starting and experimentation begins. Girls start having their periods in upper elementary so you can't wait until high school to start teaching about sex.

But in 2nd grade. Where talking about 2nd grade man. 2nd grade.

In the Iverson “practice” voice
Did you read my reply about the lesson you shared? I agreed with you for the most part.

I think 6th grade is probably the starting point.

I got crapped on when I stated how stupid I thought the “Don’t Say Gay” bill is by the usual suspects on the right, but I suppose that shows my depth of investigation and critical thinking. 🙄

No, I do not believe sexual orientation and gender identity issues should be a part of the curriculum for 2nd graders. And yes, I believe anyone who thinks it should be discussed with seven and eight-year olds is nuttier than squirrel turds. Sorry, not sorry.

6th grade might be a little late for some. Most girls get their first period when they're between 10 and 15 years old. The average age is 12. 10 year olds are in 4th grade.

Do you have a problem with lessons that talk about traditional gender roles? Like the one I referenced in this post:

So you would have a problem if your daughter rode motorcycles and wanted to be a pilot or if your son liked cooking and wanted to be a nurse? Traditional gender roles are the only things questioned in this standard. Here is the homework for 2nd graders after the Pink, Blue, and Purple Lesson.

If that’s what it is, then no. But I don’t see that as being any different than what I was learning in second grade back in 1988-‘89. Why a new bill if that is the extent of it? Something doesn’t add up. It seems as frivolous as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, and I see it as nothing more than an attempt to turn our kids into a political football—yes, both sides.

Based on the comments of the authors, if you go to the curriculum for the 2nd grade, there are links to this site. I started the process of posting but I would have to drop box the document, spend 30 minutes posting it…all to have you idiots comment with a laughing emoji.

It’s there, go search it
You know what's on HBO? Sesame Street. You know what else is on HBO? Euphoria. One of those shows is something appropriate for children. One of them is not. Just because something is on a station/network/website doesn't mean that's what is shown in school.

So, we’re going with “fake news” again? How Trumpian of you.
It is fake news. It's more made-up triggering nonsense from the caravans and CRT party.

And this is the type of "issue" that the old people running the Democratic party are terrified of, not sure how the national democratic party gets blamed for state or local based stuff that's not even based on politics anyway.

The "Don't Say Gay" (that doesn't say gay) bill does intentionally target the LGBTQ community. They had an opportunity to change the wording of the law to make it more general, but the Republicans voted against it. Why did the Republicans vote down this amendment?

The amendment proposed by Sen. Jeff Brandes, a Republican representing St. Petersburg, would've replaced the words "sexual orientation or gender identity" with "human sexuality or sexual activity."

This would mean that instruction about sexual activity, in general, would be banned for certain grade levels. Supporters of the amendment, including Equality Florida, said it was a step in the right direction, as debate over the bill has often conflated sexual orientation and sexual activity.

"If the intent of this bill isn’t to marginalize anyone, let’s make sure we aren’t," Brandes said during Monday's Senate Appropriations Committee.

The amendment failed on a party-line vote, with Brandes being the lone Republican to vote in support
