Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has fallen behind Ted Cruz in the national GOP horserace, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Cruz's advisors are counting on the support of the "Anybody But Trump" crowd. Based on the fact that it will likely soon be a three horse race, that may be the correct strategy.

I know he needs the nomination before he can win in November, but he's committing the same mistakes that Mitt and McCain did back in the day. Cruz is alienating the Indees and moderates, but I'm sure he's not worried about that now

I see that both him and Trump are still taking that majority of the Republican vote. God is the GOP screwed.

They did this to themselves. The brought in the Moral Majority types and the anti-government types and they are going to have a hard time getting a lid on it.

Hillary is likewise alienating people. But in this case she's alienating the Bernie supporters.

What bothers me - and is something the Hillary supporters don't seem to get - is that the lies and attacks on Bernie probably don't actually appeal to indies and moderates. So she is only alienating supporters, not winning new supporters.

Just as Cruz may be relying on the ABT (anybody but Trump) crowd, Hillary is relying on the ABR (anybody but a Republican) crowd.

At least Cruz's ABT strategy is appropriate to the race he's in now. Hillary's ABR strategy may be similarly appropriate to the general election contest, but is not appropriate in the primary race.

The amazing thing about this poll, and it is truly amazing is that it was skewed toward ultraconservatives and the donald is still basically tied.

About the first national poll taken totally after the debate. Shows that the crazy Donald performance might have actually hurt him. To read some internals of the latest polls, Trump is living on the knife's edge. One SC poll had him at 33, but with a favorable of 41.

I think Trump is a joke but I think I would vote for him before voting for Cruz. Cruz is the Devil's disciple. (The evil one, not the beloved Devil on here.)

From the very beginning I've been telling you Cruz was the guy to be worried about.

Everybody spent their time on Trump.

Can people please start paying attention to Cruz?

I do not want to be forced to vote for Hillary.

As I've said before, if Cruz or Trump get the nomination, I'm not voting. Unless someone running as an independent is worthy.

Big failure of her campaign staff.

I think they may have got caught up in the early polling showing her so far ahead. Even with Iowa pointing to a problem they stuck with the game plan. They could be in shock after seeing her Nevada lead evaporate.

The more the number of candidates narrow the clearer a picture will emerge. Hillary can't like what she is seeing.

Another Billionaire?
It sure seems like there's an opening for him. Hillary is weak because everyone is anti establishment right now(among other things). Cruz/Trump aren't moderate enough. I have no idea if he could win, but I think there's a good chance he throws his hat in the ring if Hillary looks weak after this weekend.

Well, if nothing else, he could potentially win New York and it's 29 delegates. If that happened, it's quite possible that nobody would reach the 270 needed to win.

I assume you 2 are still talking about Bloomberg.

If this is the ballot

Dem - Hillary
GOP - Trump
Ind - Bloomberg

Who wins NY? Who wins overall?

Which New Yorker would the South hate least?

Would we finally see the American Christian Party come into existence with some combination of Huckabee, Santorum and Carson on the ticket?

Tell me how the ACP loses if the alternatives are Trump, Hillary or Bloomberg.

Three NY shills for corporate power vs Jesus.

No contest.

I, of course, will vote Green.

You talk too much. ;)

Link to incorrect 2004 exit polls?

Maybe you have a short memory, and no, I'm not going to look for a link for you. But the exit polls were way off on election day in 2004. Look it up yourself if you don't want to believe it.
