For a number of years the UI told us that the roof in carver hawkeye was not strong enough to hold a big score board. Now with all the new digital tech and the chance to have multiple adds on the unit, They decided that the roof COULD hold the unit.. Guys it is not for the players or the fans . It is all about money

Or could it be that the tech has gotten lighter? I agree that they'll probably pepper it with advertisements, but refuse to be as pessimistic and cynical as you.
I would guess modern scoreboards are much lighter than those of yesteryear. A nice upgrade with an opportunity to increase advertising revenue seems like a win-win in my view.

Lets be honest, there is going to be 35% basketball related stuff on the scoreboard, the rest will be adds. Just like the football scoreboard, we did not gain anything by putting up that big scoreboard other than a monster advertisement. BB will be the same, I could not care any less about this scoreboard

Come on, don't give up!! If you try really, really hard I know you can find a way to care less about it. Now get back in there and give it your best!! Your apathy should know no limits!

I think it will add a lot. Advertising is part of the viewing experience either at home or at the Venue. It's our world.

With the new bigger and better scoreboard - You will always know the price of Milk at Hyvee. .... while watching the game.....Look on the bright side of things...:):):):)

Is that really a thing? I've read that tossed around on here, but have never seen a factual quote to back it up. In any event, no way is that possibly true. You know how much weight snow adds? I'm just curious if it was a real claim or an urban myth.

Did they figure out how to stop the snow?

After it was installed, why has there been no pictures of it after it was up and running?
Good question. From the earlier pics, the other scoreboards are going to be decent size as well. I'd expect to see something this week.

They just got this in on august 1st.

They haven't gotten the actual display panels up yet.
