Almost Locks:
King, Johnson, Blythe, Ott
Probably:
Lomax, Mabin, Nieman, James Daniels, both OT's (historically), Duzey, Smith, CJB
Maybe
OG's, Vandy, Krieger Coble, Taylor, and pry a few whom haven't played
Niemann, the true sophomore starting LEO linebacker who currently is 2nd on the team for TFL's on the team.....every single coach that we have played has done nothing but raved about him. He has about 20 tackles on the year, but if you know anything about our LEO position, it is really not a "stat stuffing" position on our defense. But is very critical because they are asked to be stout on the run while also having the ability to match up with WR's in the slot, He has NFL size, speed, and athleticism to be very very good. Vandy is probably a stretch, but he reminds me of some pretty good slot WR in the NFL, might get a cup of coffee.....and Krieger Coble was our #1 tight end when Duzey was out and will now be #2.....being that there are not many teams in the NCAA with a TE and the fact that almost every Iowa TE has at least had a cup of coffee in the NFL I would not be surprised if he got a shot. If you do not think Nieman has NFL written all over him then IDK if I can help youPlease tell me someone didn't put Vandenburg as a potential NFL wr. smh Same with Krieger Coble. Isn't he the 3rd best TE on our roster? Making the NFL is kind of a big deal. Nieman? How on earth is he NFL worthy? He's a 2 star recruit with about 5 career tackles.
I would say the guys who will actually get drafted will be King, Koehn, and Blythe. Ott is going to have to get healthy or he slides to free agency. If Duzey is healthy, he's got an outside chance. Smith is a decent college WR, but he's not going pro. He just doesnt have the production thus far.
Not critic at all, long ways to go.....but just keep watching and you will. Very impressive for a true sophomore to be able to do the things he is doingCall me a critic but I don't see it just yet in Nieman.
Nieman? How on earth is he NFL worthy? He's a 2 star recruit with about 5 career tackles.
That's exactly the same type of comments that were being made about Chad Greenway at just about exactly the same point in his career (as a starting OLB sophomore). I see a few similarities. At 6ft3 225, Niemann is built very similar to Greenway and both players have similar backgrounds in terms of being multi-sport, multi-position athletes.
You know, you're kind of a pinhead. No one is saying Niemann or VandeBerg is NFL ready right now, only that they have the kind of talent that might develop into a pro career. If VandeBerg ends up leading the B10 in receptions, he will definitely be on the scout's radar.
...... and congratulations, you also managed to butcher both players names -- its Niemann not "Nieman" and VendeBerg not "Vandenburg". Your spelling is as limited and sloppy as your evaluation capacity.
Agreed, but I don't know if he will be drafted as not many kickers areAGree, I'd be very surprised if Koehn isn't kicking on Sundays
