Gilman was fine; both takedowns were counters to his aggression. Then it's hard to attack a guy who's running away from you.
I haven't been happy with our lack of shots all season, but Gilman was never a problem.
Where u been all year? This is the finals you want falls etc sure be nice but this is cream of the crop. Mega is a great counter wrestler and that is how he got the take down on Gillmans shot. Clark hung with a guy that had ther most falls of all 133 lbs in the nation. Give these young men some dam credit.

First off don't waste a good beer! Second it helps with offense, the "fun" factor and recruiting.
I'm sitting here next to an Iowa fan who just asked me what are these bonus points they keep referring to? And how can we get some? I told her in order for Iowa to get bonus points you'd have to bring in new coaches from this decade
No, I don't want falls and techs. Just good hard aggressive wrestling. Not seven minutes of two on ones and being ridden like a pony. We are so far behind it is comical. Wait til next year , right?

Recruiting is the key. Starting to get nervous. PSU looks to be getting started on a Gablesk run, and other schools look to be on the rise VT looks good and Arizona State has lots of potential to name 2

So again, who is your suggestion? Who can do a better job than Brands? Actually the question that needs asked is who can do a better job than Cael??
It's refreshing for some to say what most have been thinking. We have some of the best and most passionate fans anywhere and we are being duped. I don't question Brand's tenacity and love for Iowa but it's becoming very apparent that naracisssim doesn't translate into winning wrestling.
Agree with this. Sometimes the world just passes you by because you think it will be alright. We are accepting second place, then we accept 4th, then you become ISU.
Hey, It pisses me off also but you tell me how can the Hawks get better recurits shit Cal has all the studs and will keep getting them because of winning. When you can get a line of up of over half of them ranked number one in there weight class in high school and the other 4 ranked no worse than maybe 8th. Maybe Hawks need a math teacher to should how to get that many studs with only 9.9 scholarships and still have around 30 or more wrestlers in your rooom.

That's what concerns me the most and why I don't expect much to change over the next few seasons. Incredible to not have a single TD in the championship matches. Falling to 5th place really hurts plus I think the Hawks only had one Pin the entire tourney. Hopefully the new talent coming in next year is a step in the right direction.....it better be because PSU, Okie St, and Arizona St are going to be very tough over the next few years.
Man, c'mon...its IOWA. Historic and competitive. That being said, I'm a PSU fan but a former WPIAL wrestler (Moore, Brinzer, Catalano era)...Iowa recruits but I do think the mindset has to change. Gilman and Clark are tuff but zero TD's combined in the finals speaks volumes...Sorensen didn't stand a chance, that wasn't surprising. At the end of the day, IMHO, Brands has to change his recruiting style and pitch. Damn, it's Iowa...use that!!!
I got ripped on here after the Big 10's for saying Sorenson wasn't offensive because I wasn't a Big 10 or National champ, but it doesn't take even a high school district qualifier to notice that seemingly no one has taken less advantage of the 4-count, 4-point near fall than Iowa. That has to change, it was so pivotal this weekend.
