The cats come to Iowa City soon and I admit, the game makes me nervous. It's still in the 1st half, but they are giving Maryland all they want.

this is only time I've seen Maryland...not sure they are great. I don't know they have enough/good enough 3pt shooters.

NW obviously is getting things turned around. I am worried they will get one from us.

Fortunately we get them at home instead of that high school gym with the rattling rims

The same NW that just lost by double-digits in Evanston to Penn St the other night? I watched a good portion of that game, and NW was never in it.

This game, no matter the outcome, is not shining a sparkling light on Maryland.

This makes MD look vulnerable. Iowa can score on either of these teams and plays better defense than both.

Keep in mind NW is playing desperate because they know their tourney hopes were crippled against Penn State

I don't think they're particularly close to making the tournament, they have about as empty of record as possible, no quality wins. I don't want to see Collins succeed at Northwestern at all so don't mind them losing here.

Has Tre Demps played for ever at Northwestern?

Yeah, Demps is pain in arse.

I guess facing NW at home should be a win, but Maryland is at home also.

Didn't the terrible Illini beat Purdue? I wouldn't take the bottom feeders of Big lightly, especially on road.

Sucks that NW couldn't have pulled this one out. Maryland has the best talent in the league but sure haven't played like it lately. Maybe they think they can just show up and win.

They are still undefeated at home in league play. Hope we can change that.

Northwestern shot horribly

5-12 FTs (42%)

23-65 FG's (35%)

Field goal shooting breakdown:
5-21 from 3 (24%)
18-44 from 2 point range (41%)

NW could be headed to 3-7. It would be nice to see them knock off Indiana but I don't see it.

NW will be better once Olah plays himself back into shape over the next couple of games. Mildcats offense could have used him at 100% tonight. Mary Land really doesn't run a coherent offense, but Mello is so good that he can make plays when the game is on the line.

One of my takeaways is that the crowd didn't seem nearly as intimidating as some other venues. Didn't seem overly hostile like Hilton or Breslin. Could have been the result of the opponent though.

Maryland has a great home court. Students weren't back this evening, and it is hard to get worked up over the Mildcats. I think Maryland is undefeated on their court, since joining the B1G.

Maryland reminds me of Iowa State, last year. They can beat anybody, but they can also decide to play like crud.

They are winning a lot of games at the end by turning things up a notch.
