President Barack Obama said Wednesday it would be "difficult" for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to explain his decision not to consider a Supreme Court nominee without looking like he's motivated by politics.

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid suggested a Republican, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, as a potential nominee. A source confirmed to CNN that the White House is vetting Sandoval.

Sandoval would seem to be a highly-qualified candidate. If Obama serves him up, the Senate should get while the getting is good.

The guy is a rino, not a conservative ounce in his body. Essentially, he does not support the constitution, which is the job of a supreme court justice.

What evidence do you have of that? He slashed spending as Governor of Nevada, giving himself a proportional pay decrease as well.

Rino. He just passed a huge tax on businesses in the name of education. The problem with education is not a lack of money but rather a lack of common sense.

A rejection of Sandoval by the GOP would increase the GOP's "we are assholes" factor by about a thousand and would cost them dearly in the election. Oh well...

It's really bothering a lot of people that the Republicans are finally playing the SC appointment battle by Democrat rules. It's also a lot of fun to watch, btw.

Great. So that means we'll see a vote on a nominee within a few weeks of the nomination!

Lol. Please name the last Republican nominee to the Supreme Court who did not receive a vote. Withdrawing the name from consideration does not count.
The Republicans are clearly following the Biden rules, set forth by the Vice President in a 90 minute speech as a Senator.

Actually, the Republicans are trying to apply and significantly extend the so-called Thurmond Rule created in 1968 by Strom Thurmond, four years after he had switched parties to become a Republican. That "rule" has always been characterized as kicking in during the summer of an election year, and Biden was discussing it in that context in 1992. Republicans are now trying to apply it in February. Nice try, though.

Actually, a rejection would lend credibility to their assertion to not take up a nomination this year.

He is clearly a Rino.

He has been giving away deals to "Green" businesses such as Tesla. That one alone is supposedly in the $1.25 Billion range. I am not sure what it includes but part of it is made up of transferrable tax credits ... meaning they can sell them for cash. Since that company is likely to never make any money before it implodes, this is like paying them directly to set up a factory in Nevada.

He also was bribed by Uber and Lyft. They proposed legislation that imposed a 3% "excise" to wit a sales tax on rides, not only ride-sharing rides but taxi rides. In return they got to operate in Nevada.

Not sure why attracting possibly ground-breaking companies to his state makes him a RINO.
