***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

FAs include Bonner, thomas and Jones. Thomas i don’t think is what they need and she is likely a package deal with Bonner. Maybe jones but a 5 isn’t a priority. So, probably not.
Yea, no chance any of them are coming here. Bonner is a helluva player, but she's clearly a hater. No OG wnba players are coming here and i am beyond okay with it because eff em. KM god bless her knows whatsup and she's on board for the best 5 years of her life. The Fever roster will be drama-free and the blue print for the WNBA moving forward. First step was getting a coach who will fight for them.. Now its all about finding players who can run run run and shoot shoot shoot

.
I'm a little nervous about White. She was horribe in her 5 years at Vanderbilt. Her SEC record was 13-54. Many starters transfered and she was fired.

I got a bad vibe from that short interview clip. She seemed to minimize the Clark effect in favor of the old "we built this league and this is our moment." She also seemed controling.

My fear is she wants to be the next Cheryl Reeve and she'll be too insecure to leave well enough alone on the offensive side of things.

Maybe it's just me.
If she doesn't follow the blue print of run run run like the second half of last season she won't make it to the All Star game.

When Caitlin saw that Unrivaled told her to take her time & that she was welcome at any time, apparently it was raining outside!

Just hope that Boston doesn't get injured and derail next season..

I didn't read it that way. She been watching CC22 since 8th grade and called some of her college games. She's a seasoned coach. There is NO way she's walking into this not knowing what she's getting into, totally unlike Sides a new coach who admittedly knew nothing first hand about CC. At the same time White knows that she has a TEAM to coach and she can't make it all about Clark in an interview. Not saying she's not going to tweak some things and CC22 is not above being coached, (and she wants to be coached and improve). For the most part I still think CC22 will be CC22. If that were to be changed drastically then there will be a lot of people calling for Whites head next, but I see this as a positive hire. We'll see..

I was assuming Boston was going to keep doing NCAA television work. She's really good at it, and the pay has to be pretty good (and getting better). Understand why she would want to play basketball, however. She's still very young.

Supply and demand folks. Imagine how many requests Excel gets for her to speak if they're setting that rate? Either that or she just doesn't want to speak much so its a limiting factor. Either way its her world now....

Think of the media interview requests that the Fever have to manage, too.

CC only has so much time.

Although they could do a deal where they could have golden state draft a player they want then trade for them...
That’s a good angle. I think though there isn’t an immediate impact player at the 5th spot. I think they would be better suited to shed contracts and attract a couple high end free agents.

Golden state has a fair amount of trade options. Other teams can make deals with them to not draft unprotected players. I think they have to pick up the salary cap of whoever they bring in. If they are under contract. So if a team has two players that are unprotected, one with a large salary and one on rookie contract. The team could offer a draft pick or another player to entice GS to draft the expensive player. Probably doesn't help the Fever unless they are looking to move KLS

Makes sense to protect NaLyssa and trade her to Golden State for an unprotected player the Fever want. Smith was a #2 first draft pick and in 2023 she was 4th in league in rebounding in and first in league in defensive rebounds per time on court. She has potential and is cheap.

The Fever have no other players other teams would trade for.

I remember at the beginning of the year they were talking about how it takes most people a year to get back up to form after having a baby, so it's possible KLS could be a better player next year.i assume combo of body recovery and overall strain of adapting to being a parent.
