****Official Crypto Degen Thread****

I bought DFYN but at a much higher price than I was hoping. A couple guys I watch love this thing.

So I transferred USD to gate.io.

Then it looked like I could only buy DFYN with USDT so I needed to exchange it to USDT.

On gate.io’s “Flash Swap” it appeared that I could only exchange USD to GT. Wtf?

I then converted the GT for USDT.

Holy hell what a cluster F.

What did I do wrong or how can I make it easier? Has to be easier right?

I guess I should have transferred USDT from coinbase initially. The reason I chose USD is because there was no fee compared to USDT.

This is how it is with these Alt coins. I chalk it up to buying early when its hard. When its listed on Coinbase or Robinhood, that's when the price should skyrocket. Just the cost of doing business.

I’m going to use kucoin going forward even though US citizens aren’t supposed to use it.

gate.io is the worst experience ever.

What do you guys use for a wallet?

I set a coinbase wallet up but took a screenshot of my keys. After thinking about what I did, there’s no way I’m going to put anything in it.

Might set up a new one with them, or Trust Wallet, or even a cold wallet.

Trying to learn every day. :)

what is the fee to move things off coinbase into trust?
I’m not an expert but there is a transaction fee for the transfer. Neither coinbase or wallet trust charges you however. The fee goes to the miners verifying the transaction.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

PS sorry that doesn’t answer your question about how much it is. Changes every day, google will tell you.

Correct. The amount of transaction fee depends on the type of crypto being transferred, for instance Bitcoin and Ethereum have high transaction fee's at the equivalent $40+ USD hence why you should only transfer them when you have a large amount of it. Other crypto have fee's ranging from a dollar or two to free.. it all depends on the crypto and how they have decided to implement transactions.

Exchanges like Coinbase will automatically choose what they think is the best transaction fee but it is possible with your own wallet to decide how 'gas' as it is called to use when trying to transfer.

Right now for instance, the main crypto I am in is ICX and their transaction fee is roughly $0.01 USD.

I use Trust Wallet for a good bit of my crypto. I have my ETH, ADA and DOT staked on Kraken

What price did you buy in at?

Been on a nice climb since July.

Have a target price?
I have actually been in on ICX since it ICO in 2017 and it's my long term play in the crypto market. I bought it on its way up to $12 and bought it on its way down to its lows of $0.10 but I am technically still $3,000 in the hole currently with it. In 2017 I bought some WaltonChain(WTC) a now defunct cryptocurrency but at the time it was hot, I bought at $2, I sold at $24(peaked at $40 later on) and rolled it's profit into ICX. So no real target price right now, I am just focused on accumulating them.

ICX has some incredible fundamentals and real world business + government backed projects using them. They just upgraded their network adding some incredible upgrades. Here is an article explaining my favorite part of the upgrade they did: BTP

ICX though has one major flaw, they are shit at marketing. Most crypto's are all bout the hype, in a world where a single Elon Musk tweet can send a cryptocurrency into orbit or sink it into the depths of the ocean ICX stands apart. All these other cryptocurrencies would step on their cranks to bring on the hype but ICX's management team just does a medium news article, tweet occasionally and do AMA's.

Btw, I am still salty that 4chan/biz screwed up my ChainLink play, those degenerates created a LinkMarine meme and latched on to 2 weeks after I started accumulating, causing its prices to skyrocket. Thanks to that, instead of buying my house outright with the profit I instead had to settle for a downpayment. JERKS!! Of course, to add salt to my wounds 6 months after I sold it for my house downpayment ChainLink rocketed to $30+, when I was accumulating the average price was $0.11 before the LinkMarines hit and they ended up pushing it to $1+.

I wish I got in earlier but my cost basis is $1.35 with ADA. When I first invested I did my research and was thinking $8-$12 into 2023.
Nice. Easy to sleep at night with that cost basis. I got in yesterday at $2.07. I think we see a test of $2.50 soon. Over that and we might be looking at all time highs.

My TA I am seeing a resistance at $2.42. I wouldn’t mind getting rejected a couple of times then get some consolidation around the $2.30-$2.40 range.

Was just thinking, if I die, there’s ZERO chance my wife gets anything from my crypto investments.

I can’t imagine how much is lost forever through death.

I have passwords, finger prints, Authenticator that she would have zero clue about. No way of putting beneficiaries on this stuff either.

I need to do some major planning and suggest others to do so as well.

Even if you are single, don’t let your money just go to waste.

Damn! NFTs at minimum go 10x purchase price. How was the drop this time around? Heard it was rough with the simpsons drop
Last two days have been a nightmare. It went smoother today but not perfect by any means. I had my work phone and personal phone set up. My personal phone errored out but the work phone went through. The common Elsa's from yesterday were going for 6-7x and the Simpsons were 8x last I checked. Iron Man is tomorrow and Star Wars later this week is huge.

Shit I’m going to have to load up some gems haha. I do the NBA top shot drops and they have it down it seems like. You just get a random number and if you are within the number of packs then you get one. You have to wait and buy when it’s your turn tho.

I don’t understand NFT’s.

I watched a guy on YouTube the other day.

He went and minted a NFT, and then immediately sold it afterwards for like 2x.

Who’s dumb enough to pay 2x on something so easy to do?

Way too easy. What am i missing?

Nothing, just don’t be one of those people that are like “it’s pointless derrrrrrr”

NFTs are the future of digital art and digital collectibles. Load up you VeVe account and try to snag some NFTs

I've seen stuff that looks like @Moral drew with MS paint and then sold for 100k or more. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Those can be scams. The one I got today was the first ever Pixar/Disney licensed NFT. Disney is releasing first ever NFTs for all their divisions this week. All are golden 3-D statues, and also a subscription to Disney+ (this is for the anniversary of Disney+). FOX, Disney animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Parks. Anyone can print an NFT, but these are fully licensed by the company. I think they will only increase in value.

So was it $60?

10,333 sold?

How much are they already going for??
The market just opened. Right now the lowest listed is $400.00, but The Simpsons on Monday were going for over 450 and from yesterday Elsa was over 350. Those are for the commons. There are rare ones (Mickey's Sorcerer Hat) that are listed for 750. FYI - these are in "gems", the swapping of gems for fiat isn't available yet, but very close to complete.

The mint# is something to watch. The first 40 minted are not released. I've seen people listing mint number #41-#100 going for over 100k. #41 was listed for $2.5 million.

Also to add, the numbers of the NFT mean something. The lower the number obviously the better but like a comic book NFT with a number of the actual 4 digit date when Spider-Man first appeared in the comics may have more significance than lower numbers.
