Keegan should be on an ultra-short leash. He had a good bounce-back season last year, but I've got to think that with no minor league options remaining, no longer being a candidate for a spot-start and not really being a late-inning guy, he will have a hard time proving with worth. He may not even make it through spring training, especially if Assad (or another pitcher) doesn't end up on the 60-day IL. He might actually have some trade value, though, so he might not be yet another one of our guys claimed off waivers or traded for the infamous "cash considerations."
This scenario isn't discussed much here, but although we're all expecting Matt Shaw to be on the ODR, that isn't official yet, and although this injury of his doesn't seem to be serious, it sure isn't helping his cause. It would be a borderline disaster for Shaw to be given a roster spot to start the season to please the fans and tag him as a PPI player, only to have him on the IL in April after a hard swing.... The club obviously has thought of that, so that's another potential ODR spot for AC, VB, GW.
