After the last play, I suspect the future learning will not be in the Cubs organization.
I don’t think he gets sent down, I think he gets returned to Detroit as a rule 5 player.
Barring a trade, I don't know what they do if they decide to move on from Workman. Cowles is the only other infield on the 40 man roster besides Shaw. They aren't calling Shaw right back up after sending him down, and, he hasn't been down long enough to call up unless they engineer an injury. They aren't bringing up another outfielder.
Yep, they are kinda stuck right now. I suspect we get a lot of Berti. Hopefully he can be decent.

I love Rizzo. I have a ball that he tossed to me for my oldest daughter after the Cubs turned an inning ending double play against the Reds one fine Friday at Wrigley. That being said, no. Offensively he was in steep decline, and defensively he was no longer elite.
Nicky Lopez is a free agent again....
I think they'll work out a trade with DET so that they can option him to AAA; probably cost a mid-level prospect. He has a future in MLB, but not this season, and he just cannot be on the active roster anymore.
I would hope so. He seems to have let the defensive yips enter his brain. He is a legit prospect.

Yes, yes he is. He has power, above average speed, and is a good defender minus his recent gaffes.
