It is finally here, the first game of the 2024 Iowa football season. With lofty expectations and the Hawkeyes being mentioned as a possible selection for the 12-team playoff, what will the season bring? Gone is the previous OC and in with the new OC. The defense remains the same and the special teams continue their tasks even with a new punter. Illinois sate will be a good test for the first game of the season before getting to the next game against the other isu on the schedule. Hoping that the second team players get their share of the action. The first game with out KF on the sidelines since 1998 when Hayden Fry stepped down. How will Iowa do? Experts have various predictions for this game since Iowa is around a 23 point favorite. I see Iowa covering the spread scoring over 30 points (imagine that?) and the defense holding Illinois St to under 10, possibly keeping them out of the endzone. Go Hawks!!!
