Iowa is starting Cam Baumann. The Michigan starter is decent, but already has thrown two innings and 40+ pitches the other night against Illinois.
I don't know this for certain, but it seems to me that first round games the lower seed (is that the right term? I mean the smaller number) is always the home team. After that, the home team is the one who has had the fewer games as home team, and if there is a tie, the again the lower seed would be home.
Rotates to an extent. Iowa has been the home team twice. Michigan only once.
I do wish they’d do best seed is home team. The deck should be stacked in favor of the top teams.
During the old days of the six team tournament it was. Lowest seed who won would get the #1 in the next round.
We want Maryland to win, right? Can’t have Indiana potentially stealing a bid. Plus I’d like to see Rutgers and Maryland play all night after the Iowa/Michigan game. That has to be brutal.

At this point I’m still rooting for us just to win 3 games, and obviously having Maryland go down improves those odds immensely.
I have wondered if he was hurt. I haven't seen anything about him for a while. I looked at his stats. Seem pretty good. IN 22 innings he gave up 12 hits, (oops) 23 walks, but 44 strikeouts. He leads the team in batting average against at .146. I guess with 35 runners in 22 innings you give up runs tho. If he gets his control down, watch out! I remember Nolan Ryan was kind of similar in majors. He either struck you out or you walked. After a coupld of years he got everything working. By Brecht's senior year, he would be spectacular. But it will probably be in the majors.... Dang
Why is it a question if Rutgers and Indiana play yet tonight? Is there a cut off time?
If they want to get the tournament in there shouldn't be. The SEC has started games after midnight before.
Hughes asked the Indiana player if he’d thought they’d play yet tonight and he said that he didn’t know and “we will see”.
They have to complete the tournament tomorrow. I can’t see how the Big Ten could afford risking trying to potentially play 4 games tomorrow.
Then why was this a question? The announcer questioned it too but offered zero explanation
One team could play three games. No way. Plus a chance of storms come 7-8pm it appears.
Unless there is a certain time where a game cannot start. Otherwise, the way they talked last night, they were going to get all games in as scheduled
I’m with you, I was under the impression the games would get played too which is why I was shocked Danan asked the question and a seed of doubt was planted. That’s why I’m asking.
Heller didn't care for the interference. He asked the home plate ump "what are you doing"
Limited options. He's capable just has struggled this year.
These umps are being very generous with Michigan so far. That second hit batter should never have happened.
