***OFFICIAL NCAA FIRST FOUR THREAD***

Drake by their fingernails. The Sturtz kid was a weak link for them. He just about cost them in the last minute of that game.
Sturtz got the last rebound. Yasufu had a TO and missed the front end of a 1 and 1. I think he would have felt more responsible.

I'm not taking anything away from Drake - the NCAA itself calls these first games actual tournament games - but I do see these first four matchups as "play-in" games, because, that is essentially what they're doing; trying to win a game, that only then slots them into the full 64-team field.

That's how I see it, how I'll always see it, and I'm unapologetic about it.

And before anyone asks - yes, I felt the same way when the Hawks played Tennessee in the First4 a few years ago.

Yet they’re playing a game, not the NIT, CIT or CBB and not sitting at home.

I guess that means Drake played their way in, doesn't it? They did it shooting only 10 free throws, 3 of which were on intentional fouls. I'm not sure Drake even picked up a lose ball call in the second half.

The Bulldogs are going to take a big bite outta Trojan ass.

So far every team trailing at the half in the first four games has rallied to take the lead in the 2nd half. The first 2 went on to win. See if App State continues the trend.

I’ll be honest, I kind of liked it. Old school, really let the players get after it on both sides. I get that it wasn’t the freedom of movement that we might like but both teams really battled.

Players pretty much have to be knocked to the floor in the App State/Norfolk State for a foul to be called. Only 9 fouls combined between the teams with barely 2 minutes to go.
