*****Official OTT Thread*****

Watch it again if you can guys. I wasn’t “seeing things”.He straight up goes two hand rub on that knee before the restart and was absolutely favoring it after to the point it looked like he was trying to hide it…
He was favoring it even before that exchange.

To be crystal clear, I hope I am dead wrong. This would be the worst case of “I told you so” possible. I admittedly love to argue and prove myself right, but this would do me no good. I am simply pointing out what I noticed and my resulting fear…

Then when he went to jump right before they resumed the match that same knee buckled. I wasn't even on this thread. I independently also thought he hurt his knee.
Yep. Saw the same thing. I think he hurt the left knee.

We shouldn't be surprised. Every time he blew a knee it wasn't obvious in the match. He tells us later and then you rewatch and it and can kind of see it.

i agree 100% that is TRASH.... he was driving for the fall when the ref stopped it for Blood time out ???
It was blood time I don’t think. The ref put his arm behind his back as if to say it was against the joint. I think it was similar to his pd calls while he was in college.

Spencer's demeanor concluding the match seemed down. He keeps a poker face when injured and almost looked like he was trying to do that again here.

Either that or he just gassed/wants to conserve energy and knows he has tough matches ahead.

The positions he was in are the positions where guys tear ligaments. I don't think it's crazy to be concerned at this point. Hoping for the best.

Spencer shoves Nico from center of mat to out of bounds but doesn't get push out point bc ref called Nico down. Such a dumb rule in that circumstance....
I was coming here to have this explained to me.. and same with the Bull when he was frustrated as he thought he should have had a couple.

This board is a bunch of paranoid Jessie’s. No one will ever know and he’s gonna continue to wrestle regardless.
Whatever you say, “tough guy, Johnny”. I simply pointed out what my own eyes witnessed. Are you telling me he didn’t go two handed rub on that knee right after that exchange? I just made it up?

Did they change the rules on second period passivity? Lee deserved to be put on the shot clock, not that it mattered. World class defense on those shots, but he let him in way too easy in the second period. Not the first match I've seen refs not call anything despite no scoring in the 2nd.
He should have been put on the clock, but the irony is if he were forced to attack again, he probably would have gotten the TF.

Was SL wearing anything on his knees? I mean I just do not get not wearing heavy neoprene knee pads? They make a really heavy duty type designed for MMA and such. Should be trying to protect his knees as much as possible.

IF he tore it again, he would need to take an honest look at hanging it up. HOPEFULLY this is NOT the case!!!

If he wanted to conserve energy, he should have just gone out and gotten one more TD. LOL.

If there is any fan base of any sport that has a right to be paranoid about a specific injury, it is Iowa fans and Spencer's knees. Actually, we probably should be the to the point of the following gif.

The first deep attack for Mega early in the 2nd. His leg gets fully extended underneath Mega. Not only did it look like he reacted to a possible “pop”, but how he reacted after the stalemate if what really makes me think the knee did something not good…
That exchange was not worth the potential negatives to SL while up 8-0. What is the old saying, "discretion is the better part of valor". Give up the TD and move on. He was better than Nico so the outcome was already decided.

I don't know how anyone could tear an ACL and not have much of a reaction in terms of showing pain, but he's done it before.....
Will be absolutely gutted for him if he did indeed do something again. Without even taking his Olympic aspirations into account, he's been dealt quite the tough hand of cards.
