Officials

That’s one more thing to consider going into the NCAA tournament. Not only will the Hawks not be pounding against B1G teams (for at least a couple rounds), they won’t all be with B1G refs. That may open up a little more space, let Luka run a little more free.

It's interesting, most teams in the BIG feel that Garza throws elbows and gets a pass because of who he is.

He had ONE foul last night. ONE!!! He had 5 that could have been called while he was on offense alone. I was actually surprised at what Dickenson was getting away with but it sure as hell wasn't one way. How about the non and 1 for Hunter? Unreal

The non-and one was funny & vintage college basketball. Damn near impossible to get continuation in college.

Well then, Dickinson needs to not be a try hard b**** and not make those shots against Iowa the next time we play, and you won't have to worry about that.

See how easy that is?....... :D

Michigan's constant Hand checking and pushing was a problem, Garza getting body slammed repeatedly and Nunge and CMac going down didn't help.

Also Howard in another Big Ten coach the officials bow down to now.

The 3 games I watch recently, Ill vs Neb, Iowa vs Mich and Mich St vs OSU were all horribly officiated.

MSUs last 3 games have been classic Izzo with his finger on the refs.

It's been hilarious listening to Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio State fans complain about the refs and then begrudgingly admit that what Iowa fans have been saying for years (which is exactly what they've been complaining about) was actually true........

Vindication has it perks.

Agreed...I was just responding to this notion that Garza was a victimized choir boy out there.
Victimized, absolutely.

Nobody is selling that he is a choir boy. Just that he gets treated differently than any other player in the Big Ten, but still MUCH MORE so in regards to how teams are allowed to defend him, than what he's allowed to get away with while dealing with that.............

Just sayin.

Except this one was preceded by a foul and hold of its own. Try not to be dense about it. The hook and hold should not have been called because of the foul(s) before it occurred.
Not being dense, There wasn’t a foul before Garza was holding Wagner’s arm immediately after the switch, regardless if he hooked and held after another foul it’s still considered a flagrant 1 as it’s potentially dangerous

I wonder if when March madness starts Michigan gets away with their play. HD was always raking Luka's arms.
I hope that when we get to MM, the calls will be consistent. Should be refreshing to not be faced with only the BIG corps of officials. As for Luka, he just had an "off" shooting night. As a matter of fact, so did most of the team. Remember how many shots rolled off of the rim? Luka with 16, JBo with 13, Weezy with 11, and CJ with 9. Bench had 8. Very flushable game. Michigan was the better team and we weren't.

You do not think there was a foul that should have been called before that hook and hold? Clearly you did not watch the game. Luka was held as he started moving on his slip screen and grabbed the arm that was already wrapped around him. What is he supposed to do exactly?

So does Dickinson. Officials could call a defensive foul every time he catches the ball. They dont most of the time. So goes it for big men in college basketball.

I watched the entire thing, immediately on the switch Garza had Wagner’s arm hooked (his arm was curled around the defender) that’s what was called. I don’t know what he’s supposed to do but fouls like that are called all the time in every game. In this instance it really had no bearing on the game result

Bullshit. Wagner tried to tackle Garza on his way to the hoop. Before the hold. Wagner knew he was beat. Wagner doesn’t touch him there is no contact, no hook.
