If I had any faith in the world your shtick next year wasn't going to be "we have 3 new lber's" I might listen. Yes we are playing alot of young guys because the 14-15 recruiting classes were bad. I'll contest that if LD wasn't here JD wouldn't have came and 15 would have been horrible. I get that Iowa is a "rebuild" program but when you have a guy at the helm for 19 years that's as close to "reload" as a program like ours should get.

so its the coaches fault that because of injuries they have been forced to use so many FR/RSFR. and lost 8 of 15 starters going into the season to injuries were all the fault of the coaches? gotcha blame the coaches for injuries out of their control. as for recruiting classes the 2013 class has already sent these to the NFL

the 2016 class was rated 41st of which 8 played as true FR, the 2017 has had 10 FR play so far because they were/are that good and because of INJURIES, Which now appear the fault of the coaches,
the point of this topic was to point out that a team Iowa was picked to LOSE too needed OT to win and NW only gained 339 total yards and under the Hawks allowed ppg on the season, but the way you people are bellyaching NOBODY has any RIGHT TO WIN. if the team that is predicted to win and is favored to win and then WINS, THE REACTION is fire the coaches as they can't coach can't recruit or one of a 100 different made up crying points.

I did play from the 7th grade thru the 12th grade and I also startd coaching in Texas in the mid 70's, so yeah I do know what I am talking about

2013 class which are now RSSR was rated 53rd
2014 class which are now RSJR was rated 59th
2015 class which are now RSSO was rated 58th
these classes were the results of when KF was overhauling his staff, this shook up the recruiting efforts, now in 2017 KF made what I am hoping will be the last changes to his staff going forward,'
2016 class was rated 41st
2017 class was rated 40th
the 2017 class produced these for top recruits
5* DE Epenesa US Army AA
4* OT Wirfs US Army AA
QB Mansell Blue Gray AA
CB Hankins North South AA
this after the staff finally had some stability, in the 19 class these are the 4* recruits that have committed
OL Miller 6'6 315 lb JR
OL Endes 6'6 285 lb JR
with these as the other top targets
4* RB Broch
4* WR Bell
4* QB Duggan
4* LB Dean out of Missippippi
4* CB Douglas out of Ohio.

that is not the recruiting of coaches that are content with collecting a paycheck.

We are better than Northwestern. But the best team does not always win. Our play calling after the first quarter did us in. We have to get rid of this "run first" mentality. Stanley has a great arm, we need to utilize it more. We had over 180 yards passing in the first half. Should have been up 17-0.

Ha ... if you refer to losing sleep over a game ... No way ... I used to let Hawkeye losses ruin my weekend ... Bigger concerns in life ... Only pointing out NW is not good. This should not have been one of our 6 losses in what I think will be a 6-6 season.
