OK, who is the next osu coach and what is the timeline?

Has to be someone not currently coaching. I don't see a coach leaving his team this close to the season starting.

It is not time for Campbell to be on any elite program target list yet. He has a $7M buyout and not enough success.

Reckin 'bout 7-9 of Clowns' 19 verbal commitments will be following Campbell to Columbus this weekend?

Paul Rhodes left two letters in his desk labeled BAD and GOOD, with a note telling his successor to read the BAD note if times were hard in Ames after a few years, and to read the GOOD note if times were good.

BAD note said: Blame it on me and remind them all of McCarney. This will buy you 3-5 more years.

GOOD note said: Don’t make the same mistake I did. Take the better job that gets you out of Ames. Run... seriously RUN NOW!!!

Urban is done and so is the staff. The victim said all wives knew because all wives are friends and football widows. If the wives knew, the coaches knew. They won't replace him this close to camp so will fly with what they have and clean house come January 2019.

What if his wife says she never told Urban?

And yet, every other coaches wife knew about it, per the victim. So, it’s probably safe to assume most of the coaching staff was made aware. Only one coach or wife had to tell Urban. There’s no way that didn’t happen.

I agree but the evidence that is lacking is Urban knowing. You’re talking about not only his job but legacy. It wouldn’t surprise me if she does lie.

Now there is a very rare chance that no one told him. I guess the coach kind of grew up around Urban.

I think Urban gets a slap on the wrist and a 2 game suspension. He will be roaming the Buckeye sidelines as coach in Game 3.

I believe this is the correct prediction. The team has enough talent that winning 10-11 games is very likely. And it's one of the top jobs in the country.

I think they can cherry pick their guy next season.

Misspelling......
from Merriam Webster dictionary---"bale out"
British
1: to jump out of an airplane with a parachute
  • The pilot baled out just before the plane crashed.
2: to leave or escape a harmful or difficult situation
  • Most investors have baled out of the business.

GameDay will almost certainly be there (TCU vs OSU). I would absolutely love to see all the creative signs if Urban is on the sidelines that day....heck, they'll probably be good even if he's gone.

I think Urban’s gone, interim HC for this year, then the whole staff is gone.

IF ISU has an 8+ win season and a bowl win, I’m calling Campbell to OSU.

If Urban is gone interim for the year. I said Campbell yesterday and Dan Patrick just said he got a text this morning and the college insiders say it will be Campbell if Urban gets the boot. And to whatever Clone fan who earlier said that OSU is 1 of if not the only school Campbell would leave Ames for give me some of whatever u are smoking. That would be hilarious if not so sadly delusional. ISU had one of their best seasons ever and still was unranked and had nobody drafted. But sure Clowns Campbell would only leave Lames for OSU and not say ND, Michigan, Mich St. Penn St, Wisconsin, etc. WTF Clowns you are not a has been you are and always will be a never was.

They won't hire a coach this year; interim HC will ride out 2018 and they will use that time wisely to ensure they get the best coach available.

Most likely scenario. With training camps starting this week, it would be very difficult for OSU to get their #1 target coach to take over right now. Most coaches have very little loyalty, but uprooting and leaving your own team right as pre-season practice is starting is a move that many coaches won't make, no matter if it is OSU. But nothing would surprise me.

No way Dabo leaves Clemson. He's a southern guy through and through. He's had great luck recruiting to Clemson ... so recruiting wouldn't be an issue.

One of the few jobs I could see Dabo leaving Clemson for is the 'Bama job. However, Saban has that job for as long as he wants ... (or at least until he gets "caught").

Kirby has a really good gig in Georgia and it is a sleeping giant. Don’t think he would leave for anything but the NFL at this point.

I agree about Bobby Stoops and maybe Campbell. Maybe Bobby is paid a boatload to just keep the ship afloat for a year as interim and then they bring in Campbell and his whole staff as soon as the year is up. I don’t think Bobby wants a long-term gig at this point.

I was thinking this the other day ironically. It feels like it’s about that time when Saban gets caught for something. Everybody knows he’s as crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

If UM were to get let go, clearly OSU isn't going to bring in a new staff for 2018. It would be an audition year for many coaches, including the interim guy and certainly Campbell.

At this point the OSU job seems to big for a guy that has gone 3-9, 8-5. Undoubtedly ISU is one of the worst and hardest P5 jobs in the country, but I think you need a bit more of a track record.

They will ride the interim coach to bide time till the season is over, or till they can come to terms with who they really want.

Obviously just another uninformed opinion.

My guess is the acting coach wins a ton of games, because they have a ton of talent on the field on on the sidelines, and he keeps the job.......unless Bob Stoops wants it.
Think about this, he knew about it too, they all did.....You can't tell me this wasn't brought up in coaches meetings..They might all be shone the door at the end of the season

I would guess that a standard rebuttal will be that they brought it to Urban's attention - but he didn't do anything about it. In order to protect their own careers, they may be more likely to throw Urban under the bus (and I'm not suggesting that he doesn't deserve such treatment either).

The key thing to consider here is the response by the real people who were in power.

Of course, a counter -argument could be that upon seeing that Urban didn't do anything - they were morally obligated to take the issue up with the AD (and/or other higher ups).
