Up 55-7 with 5.32 left they throw a 17 yard strike to win 62-7. Seconds earlier they passed as well.

No honor in Norman.

Oklahoma = not what to teach your son and daughter about life.

Normally I would channel Steve Spurrier and say it is not their job to stop their offense, but this is Kansas. It's like playing a team of handicapped kids.

Was it with the starters or was it with the reserves? If it was with the second and third string, I have no problem with it. Put those kids in there and run your offense. If the other team can't stop it, that's not your problem.

Now, if he had starters in there and was doing statue of liberty plays then going for two, you have an argument.

Yeah, everybody understands your concept....But Jesus F'n Christ!

Well, it is the Big 12 too. You have to remember, with Big 12 defenses 55 points is like if you have 21 points in the Big 10.

I turned briefly to the game and heard the announcers say Okla had first teamers in there and were going for style points.

Oklahoma's starters were not in the game when the last TD was scored. (That TD was the only points scored in the 4th quarter)

I didn't keep it on long enough to know if it was defensive players or offensive players still in the game, or even how much time was left. I just know that's what the announcers said.

As long as they had a reserve QB in, I don't have a problem with them throwing.

Style points for bowl game. It's what the system has created. Sportsmanship and character be damned.

Yeah, because trying to get into the playoffs is stupid. What planet do pussies like the OP come from?

I really wanted to see whether or not "New Kirk" would be a dick and try to punch in another score if Maryland failed to convert on 4th down from inside of their own 2 in the last 2 minutes on Saturday. Obviously, traditional Kirk would nave just takent a knee there, but Iowa might actually be in position to play for something significant at the end of the season, and style points could be key (31-15 makes the game look a little more competitive than it really was).

Of course, Mike Locksely went full pussy-mode and punted the ball, down 2 scores with 2 minutes left to play. Apparently he forgot what a nice guy Kirk is. Nobody will be confusing Locks for Herm Edwards anytime soon.

In this age of college football, you have to get the backups in and not just take a knee garbage time. They have to have significant reps. And believe it or not, it is also good for the KU players to get their reps wether it's the not-so-good 1st teamers or their backups.

Their is nothing dirty or scummy about it. You'd be doing a disservice to both teams otherwise. Both sides, when the game is over, get your starters out and get the subs in for meaningful snaps.

Cornelius Robertson...what that the 3rd stringer who threw a TD pass for Iowa against Sam Wyche's Indiana back in the 80's on the last play of a 49-3 blowout?
