Anyone been to the Amana Oktoberfest before?
Been to a few Oktoberfests in my days but not this one yet. Plan on going Saturday to take in some beer, vibes and polka music.
We went there. It was fun, but small. Although we had just moved back to the states after living in Germany for a few years, with trips to the real Oktoberfest... that said, it was fun.Anyone going this weekend?

We've been to Germany a few times but not for Oktoberfest. That's on our list in the next 3 years. We were in Munich last Dec and hit up the Hofbrauhaus one night. Had an absolute blast.
That's one of my concerns is how massive is Oktoberfest in Munich? I think if we go we'll brake it up by doing the festival for a couple days but then go hit some other sites like Dachau, 3rd Reich walking tour, Neuschwanstein castle and so on.

Sadly, no, but knowing that, I still haven't seen anything like it. Literally thousands of beautiful women of all shapes and sizes in one place. When people are out and about, they're generally not slogging around in wife beaters and sweats either. It is a much more active culture, people want to feel their best and look put together. I wish I could have stayed longer than a week. We did five days in the Dusseldorf area and then drove over to Munich for a couple days with friends and left out of there. Plenty of English-speaking folks if wifey (no pic) and I went out on our own.

You have to have tickets to get into the large "tents" so they manage the level of people pretty well. We also had a reserved table so we could just take it all in.
