Diamond Dave's had the $5 pitchers of mixed drinks plus endless chips and salsa specials. Good times were had.
Igor, it surely can not be a surprise to you that almost every Mall in America is, to be kind, past full bloom.
Thingsville, Muarice's, there was a toy store upstairs..
Diamond Dave's, Hardees...by the movie theater.
I had a broke friend in college that would come to Diamond Dave's with us and just get water and eat the free chips and salsa.

The Taco Bell in the mall got me through a lot of lean times from '02-'06.

There was a also a Buckle there. If I recall, when Coral Ridge opened the Old Cap basically died... and have been trying to keep going since. I know the U owns a big part of it... sounds like they will own it all soon. Biggest question is do they keep it or demo and use the location for new uses.

Arby's was there. Hardee's was always in the ped mall, where Brothers bar is.
We had a great lunch. On our way back to my car, there was a couple of folks that needed help with a jump start. They had the jump pack but had no idea how to use it. I set down my leftovers and the 6 pack that I planned on taking home, and got their car started. It took like 3 minutes. When I went to the other side of the car, my leftovers and beer were gone. WTF
I'm not sure what the minimum width needed for a Big Ten sized basketball arena would be, but I would be in favor of blocking off that block of Clinton St to vehicles and extending the ped mall and that way you could extend the size of the arena

There was a deli upstairs, like above where Osco was. I'm thinking "A" ... was it American Deli or something like that?

With the number of ramps downtown, parking would probably be easier. Closer for most, anyway. You’d obviously also include a pretty large ramp as part of the arena complex.
With the new basketball practice facilities and the new wrestling building at Carver, it's pretty clear it's not going anywhere in my lifetime.

Otoh, the mall is no prize either. Imagine the charming restaurants and little shops that could exist there had they left it be. Perfect hindsight, I know.

I think it would definitely be a PITA. Definitely need to increase shuttle frequency. Could maybe turn that parking lot across from the CRWC into a ramp.
Same years I was there. They would write your order number on your hand after bar close, and remove stuff hanging on the walls and lock the bathrooms.
