Mac McClear earned a share of the conference title for Iowa men's golf over the weekend, shooting a 139 (-3) in a rain-shortened tournament. McClear shot a season-low 66 (-5) in the 2nd round, including posting five birdies to propel himself to the title. It's McClear's 2nd conference title, a feat never before accomplished by an Iowa men's golfer. McClear's title also gives him five career titles, the most by a Hawkeye since Lonnie Nelson in 1976. McClear has been a standout on the Hawkeye team throughout his tenure and earned himself a proper sendoff with a huge performance at the conference championship. Congrats to Mac on a great weekend and a storied Hawkeye career. He and the Hawkeyes will hope to hear their names when the regional competitors are announced on May 3rd. The top 81 teams and 45 individuals will compete starting May 15th.

Elsewhere in Hawkeye sports, Iowa track and field broke two more records, with Mike Stein breaking the Iowa men's javelin record with a 75.59m mark on his final throw and Austin Kresley claiming another school record by running the fastest 200m in school history at 20.32. Hawkeye baseball split a weekend doubleheader with Penn State, Iowa rowing picked up a couple of wins against top 15 competition and Iowa tennis earned a victory in the Big Ten Tournament. You can catch up on all that and more in this week's Olympic Spotlight.
