Can someone explain to me how deleting Direct File saves money or makes the government more efficient? I though those were the goals of DOGE.

Can someone explain to me how deleting Direct File saves money or makes the government more efficient? I though those were the goals of DOGE.

Because having the government provide a service helping its citizens file taxes owed to the government is bad.. we need a middleman in there to profit off something anyone that earns money must do. It is called efficiency.
