Somewhere along the line this year we got away from that mentality and we need to start thinking that way again.

When I hear our players say we want to win it all, or we are one of the top teams in the country. Maybe they aren't aware that they are 2 and 8 over their last 10 games. You are not one of the best teams in the country when you lose 80% of your last 10 games. Too many close losses - that show a lack of focus and mental toughness.

Keys to winning and making a run.

- Play as a team
- Penetrate the lane and get some baskets in the paint
- Guard the perimeter
- Better shooting by our guards
- Bench play has to improve drastically, they need to come out aggressive
- Value each possession, move the ball to get good shots

I hope the Hawks come out swinging and can better last year's one and done performance. If we don't come out aggressive, Temple will win. If we get back on track, who knows.

You do realize that we beat Davidson last year right?

Yes, should have said won one and done. I would love to see a sweet sixteen team or better. A month ago I felt we could have made it to the final 8 or better.

The post selection show interviews showed absolutely no emotion or words of determination to win.. Even Fran didn't seem like Fran. I wish all these adults would get their act together and take their responsibilities seriously.

Dakich had some pretty sharp criticism of Iowa in one of the ESPN segments. Paraphrasing here, but he said Iowa is a good team when they make shots, but doesn't show up when they don't. Said it is immature and childish of them and veteran teams don't have these issues. Mentioned veteran teams find ways to win when their two scorers have off nights and Iowa doesn't give great effort at times. Again, not direct quotes here.

Highlighted section I believe to be nonsense. Iowa never got blown out during this losing streak, and we're in most of them inside 2 minutes. They showed up and played hard whenever i watched them. The struggled, to be sure, and you can say the choked at the end of games. Immature and childish is bs.

Either:

(a) Dakich made a ridiculous and demonstrably false statement;

or

(b) you purposefully misquoted him in order to take another cheap shot at the team.

It is easy to win when you are shooting 50%. It is hard to win when you are shooting 40% and need to get a few key stops on defense or need to will the ball into the hoop when on a dry spell on offense. This team seems to not be able to do those little things to win games when shots aren't falling.

Don't make it worse than it actually was. We have lost six of eight, not eight of ten.
