I disagree entirely. I'd still take him over all the B10 West coaches and most of the others. Not many B10 coaches I'd take right now over him. People blame him for everything bad and give the Coordinators credit for everything good. It doesn't work that way. He talks complementary football and people on here make fun of it, but then I hear it from professional coaches in the NFL all the time. People on here are ignorant of all the factors that are really in play. Kirk isn't perfect, but he's not the moron a few of you on here make him out to be.

The ass kicking that Iowa is going to receive in the Motor City Bowl is going to be spectacular.
I refuse to believe Kirk is stupid enough to start Cade next week. The only scenario where I can see it happening is because the game is being played 1800 miles away from Kinnick and its 70,000 Hawkeye fans. If the game was at home next week, there's no way Cade starts.
I re-watched what he said. Did give Sullivan some praise. I truly think/hope that he's looking forward to getting Cade back as backup.

A lot of it imo was attrition and injuries. We were kind of forced to putting in some real young guys the last few years. They need time to bulk up to be ready for conference play, and they just weren't there yet.

I think the injury cost Luke a lot of speed. Ortwerth might be the best TE, the injured players notwithstanding.
How many times have idiot fans been right about which QB should be playing and Kirk has been wrong? It should never happen and it’s happened at least 5 times. Kirk is the definition of stubborn ass.

I want Sullivan to start like everyone else, but I'm not arrogant enough to pretend that I know EVERYTHING that there is to know to make that decision.
For example - if Wisky would have fully committed to stopping the run - it looked like they weren't as aggressive as many other teams would be - and played containment on the edges for Sullivan and made him throw, do we think he could throw accurately enough? I don't know- he's typically WAY behind the WR on crossing routes for one thing. Why Wisky didn't sell out and force him to throw I don't know, but these other teams will force Iowa to throw 25+ times, not 12 times.
