Pretty stunning information in this article. And, if you want to blame the women and say they are stupid druggies, go ahead. That still leaves a newborn that is addicted to drugs, and mountains, and mountains of medical bills.

This addiction can sneak up on anyone and it can also happen way too fast to someone who's getting high. Through both science and street wisdom, the path to kicking it has improved tenfold in the years I've been alive. I think suboxone is probably better than methadone. I think kratom needs to continue to be left alone by the feds (and loosened up in certain states). The path out is not the current attitude/path legally.
