I saw a Ohio State fan on YouTube thismorning say that Iowa was exploiting sick kids by doing "The Wave" and it was intended to effect visiting teams and Iowa should be ashamed of themselves.
Wow. When was the last time anyone accused IOWA of running up the score? Probably goes back to when Hayden was roaming the sidelines.
Osu will get no sympathy from me,nor should they look for any from anyone else. They've run up the score on many teams in the past, hawks included. I loved being on the other side for a change. In fact, i was screaming for us to go for it on that 4 and a inch play where we kicked the field goal
Ma I need more meatloaf!I watched that, just waiting for his Mom to call him down for dinner.
Penn State should have run up the score last week. For running up the score

Beaner - thanks for this.
I found it funnier than hell when he's talking bowl games. "book your tickets for El Paso folks".
One thing you could say about Fry: If his team scored 33 points, they could NOT have scored 34.It was against Indiana when Hayden put in Corny Roberstson and let him throw. Sam Wyche was the IU coach and bitched about it lol.

Pretty good example of the kind of twisted thinking that can occur when you let a game become far too important.
LOL at the OSU fans complaining about running up the score. You’re OSU, not Cornell College.
Scratch where it itchesOne thing you could say about Fry: If his team scored 33 points, they could NOT have scored 34.
Those osu fans should ask themselves: What would be more humiliating to their team and fans. Should the Hawks take 4 quick "victory" snaps and jog off the field or actually give osu a chance to stop Iowa's third string running back?I agree, and am glad KF and crew played it the way they did. At the same time it would have been equally sweet to take knees at the end, sending the signal to Ohio State... "yeah, you've had enough."
That was against Michigan. Coached by ...... Bump Elliott. You think Bump had a smile on his face last night walking out of the stadium?I
For running up the score
I remember an old Woody Hayes story where the Buckeyes were shutting out Northwestern or another B1G foe back in the late 1960's/early 1970's and the opposing team kicked a late field goal to avoid the shutout. With 2 minutes left Hayes put his starters back in the game(despite a 50 plus point lead) and they drove down the field for a touchdown and then went for a 2 point conversion. After the game a reporter asked Coach Hayes why he went for 2 with less than a minute to go and a commanding lead. Hayes replied "I went for 2 because I couldn't go for 3!"
So all fan bases are completely idiotic.........sometimes our species is a silly bunchSome want Urban fired
What an idiot. Typical spoiled fan of a top tier program who can’t accept that his team is human.. He is just jealous of the good press that Iowa has received for including the kids in their football games. He needs to do some research of how far back Coach and Mary Ferentz have been involved in getting this Hospital to this point, not only financially but also emotionally. Besides it was a Fan of the Hawks that got the idea of the wave rolling. I know not all Ohio St fans are like that, but there was a certain amount of arrogance in the air as we were going to the game. People were showing up to watch a given win. I would have been happy with a win,I saw a Ohio State fan on YouTube thismorning say that Iowa was exploiting sick kids by doing "The Wave" and it was intended to effect visiting teams and Iowa should be ashamed of themselves.

Lol! "I think that's where The Brute Bowl is!"
That was hilarious!
Barkley is fast, but he can't run 100 yards, in full pads, in 8 seconds. Our score was quicker.Iowa was running up the score 8 seconds into the game. What fan base can take that?
On another note, I didn't pay attention to the start of last week's OSU vs. PSU game, so I'm not sure which way of scoring is quicker, a pick six on the first play or a kick off return for touch down? I imagine running 30 yards should be faster than 100 yards?
A longtime Buckeye fan and Alumni here and just want to say that 99% of Buckeye fans would say that Iowa is first class and KF is first class. Forget about the 1% outliers and move on. I hope visits to Columbus are good for Iowa fans as I thought it was generally pretty good for visiting fans.
BTW, I live in West Virginia and if you want to talk about bad fans, WVU fans are on a scale of their own....actually physically dangerous to visit WVU for a game as an opposing fan.
thanks for sharing. THAT is good comedy! Loved his comment re: their AA DE trying to tackle Stanley while he threw the TD to Hockenson. That play was a microcosm of what happened yesterday...I saw a Ohio State fan on YouTube thismorning say that Iowa was exploiting sick kids by doing "The Wave" and it was intended to effect visiting teams and Iowa should be ashamed of themselves.
The announcers sure felt they had the talent... if I had just listened to the game without video, I would have sworn we walked out a HS team. The mighty Buckeyes had us beat from the week before, when Barrett finished with 16 straight completions. Poetic justice that all that build-up lead to a pick-six for number 17 and 4 TO's in the game!If there is one team I will never feel bad for pisspounding it's Ohio State. 1. They have enough talent to never be out of games. 2. With all that talent if you don't want us to score stop us. GO HAWKS.
This is the kind of guy that makes this victory so sweet. The wave comment was pretty bad but the guysI saw a Ohio State fan on YouTube thismorning say that Iowa was exploiting sick kids by doing "The Wave" and it was intended to effect visiting teams and Iowa should be ashamed of themselves.
The media attention helped those lousy exploitative t-shirt making families raise over $250,000 for Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Kirk and Mary Ferentz also took advantage of those poor sick kids by donating $1,000,000 this year. That was fun. Thanks for posting. That guy needs to be kicked in the nuts for his take on the wave.
