Lots of hype for this game in Memphis' back yard. Sports Illustrated is hyping it as the 2nd best bowl match-up...

ISU SHOULD win this in an easy cake walk. They've faced much, much better teams this year and have won against some of them.
This isn't even a top 20 bowl match up, a 7-5 big 12 vs a non power 5 school?? give me a break.Lots of hype for this game in Memphis' back yard. ESPN is hyping it as the 2nd best bowl match-up...

Memphis is a 3.5 point favorite.
An underdog against a G5 team in ISU's season for the ages...

It was Sports Illustrated that ranked it second best bowl match-up. Here was their reasoning...

Wait. Is this about ISU? Hmmm, I come here for Hawkeye chat.
I think we had more Iowa Fans in the Rose Bowl, than that stadium holds which is much farther away than Memphis, nothing to see here.
Nope, mainly ISU and Nebraska chat.Wait. Is this about ISU? Hmmm, I come here for Hawkeye chat.
"OT"...simply avoid clicking on the thread then. Problem solved.
I would have thought the Rose Bowl held more than 60,000. It seemed a lot bigger when I was there 2years ago -then again I am getting older and my memory may be slipping.Liberty Bowl holds 61k. We had, what, 40k at Rose.
Not even close.
Easy there, Snowflake. No need to get triggered.
The Rose Bowl holds over 90,000I would have thought the Rose Bowl held more than 60,000. It seemed a lot bigger when I was there 2years ago -then again I am getting older and my memory may be slipping.
isu/memphis as the 2nd best non playoff bowl game?It was Sports Illustrated that ranked it second best bowl match-up. Here was their reasoning...

I do not care what or who's reasoning anyone who would say this bowl game is even a top 20 has zero credibility, Anyone who would send along links and wanting to discuss the topic has even less cred. This is something I would expect the Register boys to write and when they do all of cyclone nation bows down because if Randy wrote it ---it has to be true."OT"...simply avoid clicking on the thread then. I didn't realize I was the one who clicked this thread to come in and whine. Apologies.
Not gonna happen they may win but Memphis is a very good offensive team.ISU SHOULD win this in an easy cake walk. They've faced much, much better teams this year and have won against some of them.
Why don't you take this to cyclonefanatic where it belongs.Lots of hype for this game in Memphis' back yard. Sports Illustrated is hyping it as the 2nd best bowl match-up...
SI has what my Grandmother died of "lack of circulation".It was Sports Illustrated that ranked it second best bowl match-up. Here was their reasoning...

A new low: fellow Hawks butt-hurt over Cyclone football.
They have a great year, but Iowa has nothing going on? Good take, you should post more.ISU has had their a$$ kicked for years. Good for them on a great year. Hope they win their bowl game and I never thought I would say that. But I am sick and tired of the piss poor Iowa fans who always grind on the clones and really have nothing noteworthy going on.
I'll see your post and raise you this.
I know what the statement was and I know the capacity of the Rose Bowl. Iowa fans were the majority and it wasn't far from 2/3 -at least at the beginning .True. But the statement earlier was that there were more Iowa fans in the Rose than the Liberty holds.
That is some damn fine cherry pickin'. Given Iowa's post Stanzi bowl games. On the plus side, if ISU wins, they will finally pass Ricky Stanzi for number of bowl victories
Stanzi 3-0
ISU 3-9
