They took the term boilermaker the wrong way.
Aiden O'Connell had some huge numbers for the Raiders against the Chiefs on Friday. They should have just paid up on Brohm even though he was a big jackass.

You have to wonder whether some teams who hit rock bottom will be able to continue in leagues like Big 10 and SEC, what with NIL and paying players

Were they not suppose to hire another coach after Jeff Brohm left on his own for Louisville?
You're equating a fanbase wanting a guy fired to a school being forced to hire another HC because the former one left on his own?

All in good fun. Every season there’s a team that is the worst in their conference. It just so happens that Purdue hit rock bottom in the same season that divisions were eliminated and conferences got huge, and they ended up with the dubious distinction of being the world’s first 18th place team. That’s all.
We’re headed down that path but won’t fall to the bottom. Next year will be brutal.
I just looked at Iowa’s schedule next year and it looks to be another 7 to 8 win season. So, not much a drop off from this year’s record.
Once they got rid of all their ex Iowa players, it went to shit
At least their men’s bball team wins conference championships to ease the pain.
