Other games.

I see the freshman guards who couldn't miss against us, are struggling against NW. Two for Thirteen right now. BAU.

NW giving Purdue a much better battle than we did and the student section there is the best I've ever seen it.

Of course since it would have been much better to see Purdue win this, they're gonna choke it away.

I'm going to guess this NW win over Purdue will overshadow our glorious win over the Gophers.

It's really a bit difficult for me to fathom how this NW team can be (9-5 and in second place in the league. I guess I'm not alone in that.

Combine this with both Wisconsin and Michigan will be missing the Big Dance, unless either wins the BTT.

Crazy stuff.

Michigan lost because Howard refuses to run the offense through Dickinson when he should. That loss to Indiana is all on the coach. Dickinson wasn't even looked at during the final 4 minutes. If he was at Iowa the offense would be giving him 3 or 4 times the touches.

Hes not going to be a high pick, I could see him transferring somewhere to try for a final 4 next year.

Michigan is falling into the one and done revolving door problem.

Dickinson should transfer to Iowa. He practiced during the off season with Luka sometimes and i could see him have a 1st team season with Iowa. At Michigan he's not going to be involved in the offense to the detriment of him and thr teams win loss record. Howard has completely wasted him this season.

That's how you beat Purdue. Play football and hope they don't call it. They didn't. Worked out. That crap style is also why the big never wins I'm March.
Same reffs that do big ten games do tournament.

The reffs swallow their whistles more than ever in the tournament.

If anything the big isn't physical enough to win in March.

Yet oddly enough, we laid 86 on them and their organized team defense.
I know it will be a different story in kittyland next week regarding the scoring, but the outcome doesn't have to be.
And they held Purdues guards to a combined 12 points .

Iowa gave up over 40.

Iowas offense being good doesn't change the fact that their defense is always bad.

How can you let a game get anymore physical and one sided than that game? Purdue players were getting pushed, shoved, etc to the point the announcers just kept pointing out Purdue players that got mugged. Not to mention they have nu points a couple times and literally called a shot clock violation on Purdue without the play clock going below 6. That's not basketball.

Life on the road in the B1G.. it's effing BS.

Good thing MN is REALLY REALLY BAD and not just Bad otherwise we would have lost today too. Officiating was incompetent or corrupt or both.

It’s all fun that big ten has unique trends for officiating but this defense never works in the actual tournament. So it puts the league at a disadvantage.
Not true, Big12 is more physical than b10.

Its all the same reffs and they let teams get even more physical in the tournament.

Big10 keeps getting beat because they don't have good enough guards to deal with the physicality that is allowed on the ballhandlers.

“Never”? Had a Final Four team and two Elite Eight teams literally two Tournaments ago, and I don’t need to remind you how close it was to our conference having half the Final Four.

Um the last game I watched of big 12 I seen multiple players foul out. I’m not saying big ten doesn’t lack talent at some positions or anything, and yes refs move from conference to conference, but I still think the other leagues emphasize player movement much more then big ten.

Take a look here…

lol

Wow! 1.5 less fouls called a game than the average!

The B1G really is a brutal free for all!

It’s a wonder more players aren’t killed.…

I haven't watched many B12 games this year, but my impression over the years is that the B1G allows more physical play than the other leagues, but the caveat is that sometimes it seems to only apply to the home team. There are some crews that are much better than others. This has been a problem in the B1G for decades.

Keep focusing on the anomaly. Big ten is way to physical.
If anything, looking at the past 20+ years, it’s 2021’s choke that was clearly the anomaly. I get you’re still salty after the loss and you might have a point that the B1G is too physical, but can we leave the claim that the “Big Ten never wins in March” to the SEC haters and tools at ESPN?

Frankly, our own conference’s fans buying into this narrative that isn’t backed by answers is a very imasculinated and self-hating look.

We haven't won a championship since when? And are routinely considered the top conference. The few high draft picks the league sees usually don't fit the big ten style. Such as ivey. Murray fit well in Iowa offense though.

No we aren't! It's sad to see our own fans buy into this BS. We have TWO ranked teams, lol, and people still get off on calling us overrated. 😆 The Pac-12's championship draught is longer than ours, and no one ever talks about that, do they? Outside of Kentucky (an actual Blue Blood, something our conference doesn't have) and an extremely short streak of dominance by Florida, the SEC has not had a single other program play for a National Championship in the last 25 years. Meanwhile, nearly HALF of our conference's programs have played in the NC game since 2000.

Nobody on earth is saying the Big XII isn't better this year and that the ACC hasn't been significantly better over the last two decades. I'm not sure what unfair measure you are looking to hold us against, but the Big Ten is what it is - a very deep, competitive conference that has placed a LOT of different teams in the Final Four and National Championship Games over the last 2+ decades, including as recently as 2019. Yes, we have not won those final games ... okay? So what, we're not the best conference in the land?? Agreed! Lol. That doesn't mean we need to be shit on by our own fans as part of some weird inferiority complex.

I'm not sure if it's the Big Ten's unparalleled status when it comes to conference expansion/realignment talks, but we are frankly being held to a pretty unfair standard; this is evidenced by how fans everywhere shit all over the Big Ten but have absolutely nothing to say about the objectively inferior Pac-12. No one is saying we are elite, and we are not. But we are not a bad conference, and we CERTAINLY aren't overrated. Let's wait and see how we do this March, as the pendulum usually swing back. What happend in 2021 is frankly irrelevant to this year.

Crazy stat from Northwestern's win over Purdue yesterday: After the 9:23 mark in the FIRST half, Purdue players without the last name Edey scored ONE field goal the remainder of the game.

Speaking from experience having Ayo and then Kofi the last couple of years, that type of game plan is what will have you looking like a National Championship contender one minute and bounced in the Second Round the next. All it takes is an off night or some bad luck or a bad matchup.

My favorite stats are a shot clock violation on Purdue with the shot clock never going below 5 and Chris Collins not getting a tech for grabbing a Purdue players arm during play.

I didn't see the game, but NW was probably overdue for some home cooking, which some of the other teams in the B1G get pretty regularly, including Purdon't.

A coach should never touch an opposing player on the floor during a live ball. But they got their home cooking. Oof

Kansas was just as capable of having this happen to them last year, as we’ve seen happen before with bill self teams. That’s why they call it march madness… i wouldn’t recommend you making a sizable bet that Purdue missed the sweet 16 though…

NW finished the game on a 17-3 heater in the last 3:31 of the game.
So down 8 to winning by 6 in a matter of minutes. Crazy.

MSU vs Minny cancelled Wed game...so Minny wiilll have to cram 7 games into the last 15 days of the season...5 on the road. Yikes.
